Robert Sass

"My first HONEST impression of Dr Sass was that he was too YOUNG to be preforming the surgeries, etc he was doing. But that quickly passed when he told me his age, LOL I felt VERY comfortable listening to his talk, & in asking ANY questions, concerns I had. He gave me more than adequate time to discuss any concerns I had. As matter of fact, in listening to him, he was answering any questions I'd written down to ask him b4 I was gonna get to ask them. There was 2 that I needed to ask after given the open invitation to ask. #1, the need to put any of MY blood in reserve for the surgery, #2 The amount of time before becoming sexually active again. He answered both questions in a professional manner. He even offered to speak with my son OR any other persons I had who had any questions concerning procedure. (Being my son is the only one of my children who are against me doing this procedure with ANY Dr, because of his concern for me) The office was clean, and adequate LARGE chairs for obese persons, which I thought was a definate plus, the office girls were very informative & helpfull, IF anything during my entire first visit *MAY* have been differently, the office had numerious amounts of what appeared personal charts in the small area which three employees were working. But even that didnt seem to alter their procedures with getting copy of my insurance card, & other info they needed. Apparently they were well adapted to the situation. Dr Sass not only described the procedure, the do's/donts, pros/cons, he explained where I'd be placed after surgery, my hospital stay, the need for my follow up visits, the vitamins for life. He told me the amount of patients he'd had for gastric bypass, discussed some if not all of the *negative* things that had happened to some, as well as the ones with a VERY happy ending and NO complications what so ever. I'm NOT sure at this point of the #'s he quoted, so I'll NOT guestimate here. OF course, as I'm typing this article, I have NOT yet had surgery, today is 3/2/04, my surgery date as of now is for 4/6/04. At this time I am VERY much pleased with the info I've found for myself with talking with Dr Sass, a couple other patients of his personally, as well as checking on this website some of the patients when he was out of state. I WILL plan to update this after my surgery is over and done and will be as honest with you as possible. I KNOW I've placed a lot of faith in the articles I read on this site of him, to this point I have found absolutely NOTHING negative concerning Dr Sass, so this has given me tremendous relief at this point, and making me more secure with my decission for choosing him as my surgeon."
