Erik Wilson

"I had my first appointment for a VBG to RNY revision with Dr. Wilson. It took a month and a half to get in to see him. He is very busy. There are only so many appointments open for new patients and the others are reserved for post-ops. He was very professional. I had been to the seminar and had all of my reports ready for him. I took my X-Rays from my UGI. He was very serious about the risks of a revision. He just kept talking about it. Finally, I said---put risk into a term that I can understand. He said that if I needed it--a heart bypass would be along the same lines. One of the problems is that Dr. Harberg did a Nissen Fundoplication (where you wrap the stomach around the esophogus). I throw up 2-3 times per day. My staples are gone and my band is not in the correct spot. He stressed that a leak was my big problem. I really liked him. He was very serious and wanted me to have my husband there for the next visit. He asked for the support of my entire family on this. I believe totally in his skill, but the fact that they all work together as a team in the practice, is comforting to me. He wants to do another EGD and get a better idea about the Nissen. Dr. Legett did the first one when I was considering him. He seems to be a great surgeon. I have to have the VBG fixed, so I need to press on through with it and hope for the best."
