I had my surgery on the 28th and was released on the 30th. No problems with the abdomen, only the neck and head. They had trouble putting the tube down my throat so my tongue is raw. Can't take anti-inflamatories so my back, shoulders, neck and jaw were painful. I can drink water easily. No dumping or plugging. Just live to swallow all 64 ounces of liquid. See Dr. Ho on Monday and hope she can give me something for the Polymyalgaia Rhuematica. It is really my main problem and the reason I have needed the painkillers.

Margretta, best wishes for your upcoming surgery. I had mine in November 2000, and I have never had a single regret. One thing that may help to remember is that the nervousness is over with when you wake up in the recovery room to your new life.
