"I LOVE Akron General. But, at 373 lbs, they could have had some more comfortable chairs. And the night before surgery, I had an 'accident' and the nurse decided I should shower, well, the shower in my private room was too small for me to stand in and wash. I could stand in it, but I couldn't move. And I had an IV in. There were a couple of really scary people taking care of me. An aide didn't lock the wheels on the bed and almost dumped me on the floor getting me in or out of bed. One of the nurses was just rude. On the other hand, there was an aide that was SO kind and gentle and nice that I wished I could take her home. I was unable to reach my 'private' areas and needed a lot of assistance. There was a nurse that was absolutely wonderful also. Unfortunately, it was a holiday weekend and I the wonderful nurse was only on duty a couple of shifts. I don't know if the hospital was understaffed or what, but the nursing care could have been a lot better. I was there from midnight on Thurs thru Tues afternoon. that's a long time for mediocre care. "
"I heard a lot about Dr Jaroch before meeting him. Of course I had formed my idea of what he 'should' be like, and of course, I was surprised. He is knowledgeable, he cares, he doesn't avoid any issues. I really like that he does NOT specialize in WLS. I didn't feel that he was soliciting me (as I did with some other surgeons). He places a LOT of emphasis on aftercare and does help with that. I like the email support group for his patients.
