January 3, 2005 WLS 10-25-2004 RNY micro-pouch down 44lbs Started at 295.5lbs Hello everyone I'm sorry for the long delay, I'm still new at this and didn't know how to post additional comments. Well it has been 2 months and I am down 44lbs and moving on. The healing process was a little slow because I was on predisone for quite a few years due to my asthma. I was on a double dose before surgery during and after (GOD bless my allergist). My allergist protested my surgery pending his approval of my pulmonary condition. After 10 days of nebulizing treatments and double dose of predisone everything was good. My incisions just closed up entirely 3 weeks ago. I had what I call craters (one at the top and one at the bottom) which just refused to close. The surgeon actually had to torch them with nitro sticks to stimulate the healing process-4x's. But all is good. I still need some input on these diary products. Sometime I am throw up dam near a glass of just mucous and it is very uncomfortable. HELP! Well I just went back to work today after being off since 10/4/2004 due to an asthma attack. I felt strange with so many people asking what have you don't differently about yourself, is it your hair?? You look so different. NO one has said wow U have loss weight...only you look so different. But, I can live with that. I'm kind of curious as to what they're going to say in 6 more months, tehe.. I'm a little worried about my husband (he has been very supportive through it all)he is 330lbs at 6'3" and swore that the minute I began anew he would join me in this new healthy lifestyle. He had loss 122lbs 6 1/2 years ago with my support and help. He has since gain most of the weight back. He is 5yrs my senior and has after 25yrs of marriage become insecure and jealous. I am a bit impatient now because this is suppose to be my time and he is trying to rob me of this special moment? Has anyone else experience the insecurity of their spouse/mate since WLS? I try to reassure him but he just don't get it. HELP! I will be going for my 3 month follow-up next month with the surgeon and he will order some blood chemistries perform. I see my allergist this month on the 15th. I have been doing the right thing so I sure that everything will be fine. I will update you later

12/07/2004 RNY 10/25/04 Hi Everyone Thanks for all the prays and hugs. GOD is good, everything went well. I remember Dr. Schuhknecht ask me to pray for him in his kind of amusing bedside manner, I told him that I had prayed for him before I met him. As of 8 days ago I had loss 26.2lbs. Initially, when I went for my follow-up visits and weighed in I wasn't much concerned about the weight as I was about the upper and lower craters closing up. I am happy to say in less than 2 wks I am now itching:) Now, that I have come this far I am getting more and more excited about what the future holds. I have been doing an excellent job in getting all my protein accounted for. For example, 1-cup atkins yogurt=12gPro, OPT-source=25g pro/non-fat dry milk=16g pro, 2-cheese cubes=16g pro, etc. But, I have ran into a problem with the diary products. I have asthma and diary cause me build up lots of mucous. So, I have been fighting that by drinking mint herbal tea with a little lemon juice and lot of water. I haven't got up to 5-500ml of water yet but I am at 3-500ml daily.
