It's the heart afraid of breaking that never learns to dance. It's the dream afraid of waking that never takes the chance. It's the one who won't be taken, who cannot seem to give, and the soul afraid of dyin' that never learns to live. Thinking of you as you take this step to a happier..healthier life..you deserve this..*hugs*

Angel reporting: Whitley ended up in the ER last night for another round of IV fluids. She's home now and feeling much better. Turns out that the reason she was having so much pain wasn't because of the kidney/bladder infection (which is gone now) but because she was so dehydrated. So now we all have to remind her to DRINK, DRINK, DRINK!!! Don't need for her to go through this again. Thanks to all of you who kept her in your prayers!

Official angel here! An update: Whitley got out of the hospital yesterday afternoon after being admitted Monday afternoon for severe dehydration and a nasty kidney/bladder infection. She was given 9 bags of fluid as well as IV antibiotics. She's better hydrated now, but her PCP didn't seem to be able to get the kidney/bladder infection under control. Whitley is still very weak and in a lot of pain from the infections. Her mom and I are taking her to her 3 week post-op appointment tomorrow morning with her surgical team and we will be asking for a referral to a urologist (her PCP didn't seem to think that Whit's infection warrented such measures, but her PCP wasn't around all that much to help worth a damn and kind of had an "oh well" attitude). Between her mom and I, we're gonna raise hell to get her infections cleared up. Her infections started before surgery and she was unable to finish taking her antibiotics before surgery so this has been festering since before Aug. 1st. So she has been dealing with this for over 3 weeks now without any relief that the antibiotics and bladder-numbing medication should have provided weeks ago. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers so that she has the strength of her AMOS friends to get her through this difficult time. She's very frightened right now about her kidney condition and is getting weaker by the day. Her body just can't take much more of this. She has a difficult time having the energy to chew her food properly as well as having a hard time getting in all of the meds she has to take each day AND getting in the fluids she needs so that we don't have to send her back to the hospital. Please please please, from this angel hear my plea, pray for her to get better.

Official angel report here! Just wanted everyone to know that my angel/ette Whitley Tucker was readmitted to our local hospital (Community Memorial Hospital) yesterday afternoon because of severe dehydration and a roaring kidney infection. They are giving antibiotics and fluids intravenously. By this morning Whitley was already on her 4th bag of fluids. On a good note, Whitley is two days shy of being three weeks post-op and she's lost 35 1/2 pounds forever (I promise it'll never find her again! LOL). Please keep Whitley in your prayers today and send her some strength so that she can get out of the hospital tomorrow. I'll be spending most of the day with her today and will try to update on her condition as soon as I can. Thanks for the love and prayers in advance!

Official angel flapping in! Well, folks, she's 5 days post-op and Whitley's sense of humor is definitely intact, even if her bowels aren't! LOL See, we've got this surgery business all figured out. She thinks Dr. Kothari put her in his "test" group and instead of giving her the lap RNY, Whitley really thinks that the major cause of her gas is from the little alien baby Dr. K put inside her and just made some scratch marks on her belly to maker her look like she'd had the RNY. She says that's why she can't eat sugar or fats because she's really feeding this little alien baby. She feels 10 months pregnant because of the bloating and she's gonna give birth to this alien baby when her body finally allows her to pass gas. She said that I'll find her tonight teetering back and forth on her belly like a teeter totter. Personally, the Weebles song keeps running around in my head...ya know the one I mean: Weebles wobble but they don't fall down! ROFLMAO. On a serious note, Whitley has been in alot of pain because of the gas and hasn't been getting much sleep lately on account of it. She's been feeling full all the time and yet we keep pushing her to get her fluids and meds in. She hasn't felt able to eat since she came home from the hospital because the gas makes her nauseous. The Gas-X pills she's taking doesn't seem to be helping. She has been up and walking around the block every night since she's been home. Gotta give her a big congratulations on that! She's smoke-free, sugar-free, alcohol-free, and soon-to-be-fat-free *wink*. I'm soooooo PROUD of her! She's got to be one of the strongest, most courageous women I know and I'm honored to be her angel. If any of you folks have any suggestions on how she can get rid of this gas, barring popping a hole in her and watching her psssssssssssssssst around the room like a deflating balloon, she'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks a million everyone! I'll continue to update on her surgery page until she feels able to pop in (or blow up, whichever comes first LOL).

Official angel coming in for a landing! Whitley went in to the operating room at 10:15am this morning and was brought out at 12:30pm. She got parked into her room at 2:30pm. SHE MADE IT TO THE OTHER SIDE EVERYONE!!!! She is in some pain and really sleepy right now, but every minute she is out from surgery is another minute of her new life as a post-op! And she's even kept her sense of humor about it all! She teased her mom and I of standing over her like a pair of hawks! LOL God, ya gotta love her! I'll be seeing her again tomorrow night so I'll post another update after I get back from seeing her. Just to let everyone know, Whitley and I made a poster filled with everyone's well wishes from her surgery page as well as pictures for her to look at and read as she spends the next couple of days in recovery. She's got all of us with her! Thank you for giving her so much support!
