I am 6 months post op and I can't believe how good I feel! I've lost 55 pounds which is 55% of my excess weight gone! Over half way there. I am still a bit tired though and the hair loss has finally stopped! I got a perm today and feel so much better about myself. It's funny, even though I see my clothes getting smaller, I still see myself just as big as I was. People remark that I am getting skinny, and it is hard to believe. Maybe I am just afraid that it won't last, just like all the other times? I haven't had any complications, and for that I am grateful. I tried my first diet coke last week, and it didn't taste very good. The rest of the bottle is still in the refridgerator. I have no regrets having the surgery. My 8 yr old son says he liked me better before. He doesn't like that I can't everything like I did before. But he is like a vulture watching me eat and waiting for to say I can't finish so he can have it. He doesn't mind that part at all!

I wanted to thank everyone for all the wishes. Special thanks to Penny Love who was my angel. An extra special thanks to Claire Poynter who stopped up to see me and gave me a wonderful care package. Thank you also to Momma Sandy, who was so encouraging to even after she had a rough time. I have a wonderful mother who stayed with me at the hospital for 4 days and a wonderful husband who has been extremely supportive. I came home yesterday and the 4 hour trip was not as bad as I anticipated. I am thrilled to be home and I feel so good, I'm almost scared. They kept asking me what my pain level was, and I never felt it was above a 2 or 3. I know how important a positive attitude is, because I watched my roommate get the bad news that they weren't letting her go home on Saturday. Pre-ops, when everyone tells you to walk, do it for yourself! My roommate didn't walk and even asked me to do a couple of things for her instead of getting up herself. Well, I am tired and going to take a nap, but I just wanted to thank everyone.

I stopped in to see Trisha yesterday, and she had just finished her leak test. Wow did she look good! She's moving around well and seemed to be in good spirits. I'm glad to have finally met you, Trisha. Best wishes in your recovery!
