Debi, I am wishing you a safe, complication-free surgery and a quick, smooth recovery. I had my open RNY on 12/10/01 and can honestly say I have NO regrets other than not having had WLS several years sooner. It is, without a doubt, the best thing I could have done for myself. God bless you as you start your healthy new life.

My best wishes to you on your upcoming surgery. It is the best thing I have ever done for myself and for my family. I agree with you, it is the gift of life. My husband and I both had wls in 2001 and we have lost a combined total of 270 lbs, we both have 50 more to go. I hope all the "surgery angels" swoop down to surround you and protect you.

Hello Debi, just wanted to wish you luck with your surgery we are have our procedure the same day. Always remember sometimes life leads us in directions that are beyond our control and our weight is one of them. It is at these times, most of all that we need someone who will quietly understand us and be there to support us. I want you to know that I am here for you as we walk into the new direction our surgery will point us in. Dreams can come true if you take the time to think about what you want in life. This surgery will bring a major change in our body but not our mind. The mind is the part we must work on ourselves. Remember to get to know yourself, find out who you are, choose your goals carefully and be honest with yourself.
