Hi Marty! Thank you so much for writing me! Wow, we both had our surgery the same day! I too have a lot of health issuies due to extreme weight. God is good, I have seen my regular doctor twice since surgery, he can't get over the fact I was released non-insulin dependent! I have severe sleep apnea, diabetic, high blood pressure and cholestrol! As well as 1998 having a triple bypass for my heart! I thank God everyday for giving me the strength and guidance to seek out this surgery! I remember about three years ago I mentioned this surgery to my doctor, cause I bumped into someone I hadn't seen in years! I asked her what happened to her, did she go on some kind of a crash diet? She laughed, and "said I guess you could call it that, she had gastric bypass!! "My doctor felt that wasn't for me! Well my diabeties got worse and I saw an Encronolgist last Dec., and asked him about the surgery and the rest is history! I thank God each and everyday for all goodness in my life! My husband whom God sent my way the summer after I lost my Dear Mother to reno failure 1999! Has been A Godsend!! He stayed with me in the hospital and took care of me at home after the surgery! Then he had to go back to work! Like he said, "I have to keep the insuance going cause when I reach my goal weight other surgery will be needed to tuck everything!" He was my Angel and always will be! I had given up on men all together, cause I had lost my husband George in a traffic accident thirteen years before Paul started trying to get my attention at Bingo and I finally said, I would go out with him! The rest is fairytale romance and the most beautifull Wedding I ever attened with over 200 guest both at the church and hall! Oh, thats enough about my life before surgery! I have lost thirtynine pounds according to my doctors scale!! Ya-Hoo!! I am now able to eat a scrambled egg, mash potatoe and two onces of meat with my meals!! I am no longer hungry between meals and when I eat a meal I eat about a total of three quarter cups! Sometimes I do not finish, so I make sure to eat my protein rich food first! Do write back! Let me know how you are doing!! God bless you my new found sister in the great circle of life!

Could you do me a favor? When you get replies to your question about meal planning... could you forward them on to me? I would really appreciate it. I am 6 weeks post-op and really getting bored eating all the same foods over and over again. If you could do that, it would be wonderful! Thanks.

Hi Marty~ I know it must hurt. Thanks for taking time to update on your condition. Now relax, rest and take tiny sips here and there. You will feel better ...it just takes one minute, hour, or day at a time. ~Hugs~
