Hi everyone, I just had to let you all know that I am on cloud nine today as I finally got my insurance to approve the surgery and got my date set in stone for the 28th of February 2003. Thanks to all of you that have sent such great support to me and well wishes. Now I will also be on the other side very soon.

Hi Kenneth! I just had my consult with Dr. Curci last week and was impressed with him as well. He was personable and knowledgable but was willing to admit when he did not know an answer (i.e. nutrition) and directed me to the proper person for the correct answers. I was so upset to learn my surgery date is 3/12/03, but I know it will happen when it is suppose to! Take care! I will look forward to your update!

CONGRATULATIONS ON GETTING YOUR DATE!!!! I know it seems like a looooooooooooong wait until your surgery, but it will sneak up on you!! Why not get a head START!! START YOUR WALKING. START YOUR PROTEIN. START YOUR WATER. START YOUR EXERCISE!!!!!! Get a HEAD START and you will be doing yourself a big favor. Your surgery will go easier and so will your recovery. I had an open rny in Oct 2001 and have lost 215 lbs so far. Have about 30 more to go. YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!! Well today I finally met with my surgeon and have now set a date for the surgery. It will be February 19, 2003 for an open RNY. I feel better and more relaxed about everything now and am looking forward to meeting with our local support group next Tuesday.

Kenneth - Welcome to the AMOS board! I'm a pre-op member here and have found that it's very helpful to read as many profiles as possible.
