He is one of those rare doctors who LISTENS and he has a seemingly endless gift of empathy with struggles of obese people. Immediately I knew Dr. Bo was the Doctor I wanted to do my surgery. Then I discovered he was operating exclusively in a small town called <st1:City><st1:place>Chester</st1:place></st1:City>.<o:p></o:p> <![if !supportLists]><img width=16 height=16 src="Document2_files/image001.gif" alt="*">    <![endif]>.<o:p></o:p> <![if !supportLists]><img width=16 height=16 src="Document2_files/image001.gif" alt="*">    <![endif]>.<o:p></o:p> <![if !supportLists]><img width=16 height=16 src="Document2_files/image001.gif" alt="*">    <![endif]>.<o:p></o:p> I preferred to have my surgery done locally, in <st1:City><st1:place>Rock Hill</st1:place></st1:City>. Therefore I scheduled an appointment to see a local doctor, Dr. Thies. I’ll be brief and simply state that my personal impressions of him and my two months of experience with his care were negative. To be fair, others who have hired him to be their surgeon have been satisfied with his services. If you are interested in more information regarding this experience you may write me at <a href="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected]</a> and I’ll do my best to answer any questions you may have. <o:p></o:p> <![if !supportLists]><img width=16 height=16 src="Document2_files/image001.gif" alt="*">    <![endif]>.<o:p></o:p> <![if !supportLists]><img width=16 height=16 src="Document2_files/image001.gif" alt="*">    <![endif]>.<o:p></o:p> <![if !supportLists]><img width=16 height=16 src="Document2_files/image001.gif" alt="*">    <![endif]>.<o:p></o:p> Suddenly having my surgery done locally was not as important as I had once thought.<o:p></o:p> I made another appointment to see Dr. Bo, having decided I’d rather travel out of my area to have a decent doctor who treats people with kindness, caring and honesty. Imagine how elated I was to discover that Dr. Bo had recently opened an office in <st1:City><st1:place>Rock Hill</st1:place></st1:City>.<o:p></o:p> <![if !supportLists]><img width=16 height=16 src="Document2_files/image001.gif" alt="*">    <![endif]>.<o:p></o:p> <![if !supportLists]><img width=16 height=16 src="Document2_files/image001.gif" alt="*">    <![endif]>.<o:p></o:p> <![if !supportLists]><img width=16 height=16 src="Document2_files/image001.gif" alt="*">    <![endif]><o:p> </o:p> My admiration and respect for Dr. Bo has only increased with each visit. Prior to surgery he answered every question I had professionally and completely. He gave me literature regarding my surgery and told me about a local support group where I could seek out others who could and did answer many questions regarding the actual experience of having and living with a gastric-bypass. Dr. Bo also described the surgery, using visual aids, thoroughly discussed all the pros and cons with me and never seemed to tire of answering my questions or those of my husband. <o:p></o:p> <![if !supportLists]><img width=16 height=16 src="Document2_files/image001.gif" alt="*">    <![endif]>.<o:p></o:p> <![if !supportLists]><img width=16 height=16 src="Document2_files/image001.gif" alt="*">    <![endif]>.<o:p></o:p> <![if !supportLists]><img width=16 height=16 src="Document2_files/image001.gif" alt="*">    <![endif]>.<o:p></o:p> All the members of his staff are wonderful young ladies who also have caring attitudes.<o:p></o:p> I have nothing negative to relate about Dr. Bo, his partner, Dr. Espinol, his nurses, or receptionists. In general, I'm not usually fond of doctors. Being obese for all of my adult life has given rise to more negative experiences that positive ones where doctors are concerned. However not only do I consider Dr. Bo an excellent surgeon, with an extraordinarily superb bedside manner, but I’ve also grown to think of him as a friend. <o:p></o:p> <![if !supportLists]><img width=16 height=16 src="Document2_files/image001.gif" alt="*">    <![endif]>.<o:p></o:p> <![if !supportLists]><img width=16 height=16 src="Document2_files/image001.gif" alt="*">    <![endif]>.<o:p></o:p> <![if !supportLists]><img width=16 height=16 src="Document2_files/image001.gif" alt="*">    <![endif]>.<o:p></o:p> His afte surgery care- has been phenomenal. On a couple of occasions I have needed to contact him after hours. He has ALWAYS returned my call, within minutes/seconds, and is always caring, polite, concerned and prompt to help in any way he can. Dr. Bo does have a structured aftercare program, but it isn't inflexible, he makes adjustments according to each patient’s individual needs and progress. I could not possibly rate Dr. Bo high enough to do him justice. I have to state again that his surgical competence and bedside manner are without comparison. Knowing what I know now, I'd go to another state to have him as my surgeon. In truth, I'd follow him to another country if need be. Thankfully, I didn't need to and he continues to provide me with excellent care. <o:p></o:p> .<o:p></o:p> .<o:p></o:p> .<o:p></o:p> .<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> Despite the following question and statement;<o:p></o:p> .<o:p></o:p> .<o:p></o:p> .<o:p></o:p> .<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> <o:p> </o:p> Question: Did you have anything negative to say?<o:p></o:p> . . . . . No person can be the "best" in all aspects. Completely 100% positive reviews are generally less informative or even suspect. If your experience, however, was particularly unpleasant for any reason, please be sure to include the following: a) balance your negative comments with those that might be positive or neutral, b) explicitly state that these were just your personal impressions of your own personal experience and that you are making no statements about what other people may experience.
