Daniel B. Jones

"I never met Dr. Jones before the surgery. I called his office several times before my actual date, and finally talked to him the Friday before my surgery. He did offer to postpone the surgery for me so we could meet, but at that point, I was such a nervous wreck, I didn't want to postpone it - he was very nice on the phone, but he was a bit flippant. The thing I always learned was that you have to make a surgeon see you as a PERSON...with a job, family, talents, failures, etc....because a lot of surgeons think of you as a body part that they are focusing on. He was better than that, and I didn't see a God complex, but I could feel a lack of patience for my wanting to talk about how I felt....hey, he's a GREAT surgeon though....really great. My impression of his skills has only increased -his bedside manner could use a little work. By contrast, Dr. Sanchez, his "fellow" has a great bedside manner, and seems genuinely interested in anything you want to talk about. So they make a nice team. And Dr. Sanchez is a lot easier to get a hold of by telephone, too. She certainly seems knowledgable."
