2 Years

Aug 20, 2012

It is hard to believe it has been two years since the surgery.
I stopped losing weight well over a year ago and have stayed in the 178 - 183 range ever since.
About a month ago I hit 184 and that flip a "STOP" switch in my brain.
I got lazy with my eating.
Pasta, bread, candy & cookies can go through my tube like water leading to way too many calories. Plus these foods make me crave more of the same.
In the the last month I have cut out bread and cut down on 'cheap' carbs.
I'm more pro-active about adding fruits, veggies and protein and passing up the junk.
I still love my protein bars but try to avoid other processed foods.
I'm back down to 178 and ready to phase out more junky foods as well as kick the exercise into medium gear.
This is huge for me since I tend to be a ALL or NOTHING person - which leads to NOTHING because my ALL only lasts a few days, tops!
It is amazing how much flatter my tummy is by cutting out the flour/bread. Perhaps I have a gluten intolerance.

At 5' 3" 178 is still obese which sucks. I'm sure at least 15 lbs of that is excess skin so maybe I can get a "get out of obese range FREE" card.
I'm afraid I will not lose any more weight. I am also afraid of how hard losing the next 40 pounds will be.
I want it, right?
For now I can bask in the sunshine of losing 88 pounds and keeping it off for over a year!
And make healthy choices every day.
