I had the lap Band in May of 2005. I weighed 305 the day of my surgery I would eventually loose 60 pounds. However, over the month and years I gained ALL my weight back. I was miserable! After much Prayer and talking with Dr Li she said why don't you have the Vertical Gastric Sleeve. She gave me information on it told it was relatively new but effective. I waited about a year before I decided to have the surgery.
My husband and children did not want me to have it but I had to do this for me. I was not happy when I looked in the mirror (I do not own a full length mirror). I was fat could not walk without getting out of breath. I could not fit in the rides at 6 Flags and I love 6 Flags! I did not want to go another summer another day being 305 pounds. My ultimate goal is weigh what I weighed in high school 160 pounds!! And with the strength of THE LORD, my tool( VGS) and my family I will get there!! I can't wait to see you on the other side of this journey!!
My date was set (January 30, 2009) I had my last "meal" and a few shots of 151 and was ready for my new life! Being I was a revision~Band to Sleeve I expected pain but not what happened. i had my surgery at 7:30n am I woke up around 1:00pm. According to my husband I was in there for 4 hours. I was given a morphine pump to keep my pain manageable. Dr. Li removed my band and the port which hurt big time!! But I surprised the staff I was up walking around on my floor at 6pm the same night. I was in the hospital for 5 days (recommendation of Dr. Li) but I needed it. By Sunday (Super Bowl) I was out of it. I mean just tired I tanked real fast on Sunday.
By Monday evening I felt much better. I was talking to one of the Bariatic nurses and she said. Patients who has revisions have more pain than "virgin" patients. I was like OK if i can get through this pain I will be OK and I was. THANK YOU LORD!! HE is so good to me!!
So this is the beginning of my journey to wealth, health and prosperity. I am now 260 pounds a size 20 from a 28/30 and I am feeling wonderful. Oh, I forgot I had high blood pressure (not taking that anymore), I had acid reflux (not taking that either). GOD is so good!
