My story...I am 33 and I have always been fat. Up until a few years ago I was a healthy fat person. Never had high blood pressure and I even smoked at least a pack a day. Well 2 and a half years ago I found out that I have liver disease and also Reuhmatoid Arthritis. So now I'm not only fat but now I am fat with major health problems! I looked into Bariatric about 2 years ago, but with most things it got pushed to the side. Well because of my health problems I am not able to take diet pills and I did Atkins diet and lost 85 lbs... YEAH ME, except I gained it all back! Well at the end of January I decied I was done playing around! I called my doctor went and seen him and he was excited for me. I think he had my records copied before I even left the office that day!! So I called the sugery center said I want a consult. I then contacted all of my specialists that i see and also my chiropractor, they all wrote letters of agreement for my surgery. I also knew that I needed a psych eval, which was fun let me tell you! The first consult was for February 14th, well we had a major snow storm and they shut my county down so there was no way to go. I was SOOOOOOOO upset! Well me and a girlfriend got it rescheduled for the 21st. We drove the 2 hours to the hospital and spent the next 2 hours waiting till the doctor was ready. The consult was an eye opener!! I learned a lot that I didn't know. When I met one on one with the doctor she was great!!! She said that she thought that I was a great canidate for surgery, she would write a letter to the insurance company and send the whole packet to me to send to the insurance company. I got her packet 2 weeks later and sent the packet to the insurance company with a signed receipt. I received the receipt back 2 days later. I called them everyday. They receieved my packet on a Thursday and I was approved on a TUESDAY!! So a decision was made in 4 days......The doctor called and scheduled my surgery for April 20th. I will keep you updated. A
