I had been looking for months for information on WLS and was unsuccessful. My family doctor was not able to help me because he to did not know of any surgeons performing this type of surgery. I continued to google it and found alot of information that were primarily based in the U.S. I would mention my lost efforts every time I visited the doctors office until finally my physician sent me to a general surgeon who he thought performed the surgery. I was soo excited until I got there that is. The physician I had been sent to did not perform the surgery and was wondering why I would be referred to him....UGH! I went back to my family doctor and discussed this with him and he finally found me Dr. Klein. I was relieved. It took me months to see Dr. Klein for the initial consulation..
I finally got my day and was so excited until I learned about the wait times here in Ontario......UGH! I quickly learned that the excessive wait times were not only for surgery but for the pre op testing that is required before surgery and my excitement quickly turned into disappointment.
In the interim I had discovered this great site which has helped me so much throughout this very long and difficult journey. I managed to go the the self pay route for the Dietician and the Psychologist and finally got to see Dr. Klein again only to be told that its at least another year+++++....Didn't sound promising.
So now I am waiting. Not sure for how long. I just hope and pray it wont be much longer.
