Hello and welcome to my story.
I'm fat, happy, and not feeling my best..
I am married to MR. Fantastic, love him so much.. He is for what ever I want, he happens to enjoy having something to hold, that is soft and cuddly. So I get no pressure from him.
I have a 16 yr old son, who is outstanding, my "in home" rock star, I so enjoy listing to him rock out and I even like watching him play V -games.. I couldn't have a better kid, really. A role model teenager. He is a joy, he brings the other kids at church together, he is a leader, he has my husband to set the good examples.
We like camping, and outings, movies. But church is our fun times right now.. 3 times a week we get to spend time, with the next best family in the world.. Our church family, it has made a differencein our lives, and we are so better for it..
Some of my Medical complications are:
Sleep Apnea, slightly enlarged left side of my heart, heart related issues. joint pains, leg swelling, reflux, GERD. I'm having some thyroid problems now too..
But I'm not a "serious risk" for surgery, I think I'll do great. NOT If I wait much longer, I will become one.
Losing weight is a must, but I am so worn out from doing normal daily things, the thought of walking a mile, yea right!
I hate the C-pap and waring a mask to bed every night.
Did I mention I'm allergic to it as well, and it breaks my face out.. My eyes all swollen, andchapped skin.. Ugh..
Anyway, I've been wanting to do this forever, but nothing ever worked out,
I'd lose insurance, or the surgeon stopped taking my kind of insurance. Doctors have been backed up, and year waiting list to be called for a first apt.. Crazy Hugh..
Well here it is, like 8 yrs later and I still want it, still going for it. I Just found a new hospital after
moving 200 miles away to a new area.. I was the first seen by the new Doc that transferred, I couldn't be happier
it was her, because she is such a good surgeon.. THEN
Well less than 2 months in, and she quit the hospital, so now I have no Doc again.. Am I giving up yet? NO!
So the hospital contacts me, and got me hooked up with a new surgeon from a neighboring hospital.
They are even paying some of the out of pocket cost for the transfer.. Maybe by this summer I will have it..
I'm doing all the hoops right now.. So we'll see..
PS. I feel all the delays have been a God send, 8 years ago, I couldn't have VSG, I would have had to do the RNY. I wasn't real comfortable with that one. Don't get me wrong, I like it, I just feel this one will be more what I need..
