Greetings! I attended my first WLS Seminar on Tue. April 8th at 6pm at Crestwood Medical Hospital with Dr. Facundus and Dr. Foreman. They pretty much mentioned everything that I had read on the internet or in a few books, but actually hearing them say it made me feel 100% sure that I want to have this surgery. I have decided that I want to have the bypass surgery. But, what I haven't decided yet is who I want to use. I was very pleased with Dr. Facundus in the seminar and he seems really nice. However, I do want to go to one of Dr. Maliapur's seminars. I've yet to call and see when there is one scheduled. This process will probably take me several months to get going but I'm very optimistic about it and I'm relieved to have the decision to have the surgery out of the way. I'm still concerned with the insurance part of it all, but if God wants me to have this surgery, then I'm sure that he will allow it. Hope everyone is having a blessed day!

It's been a few weeks since I've been to OH. I have been very busy with school and work. It's all that I do. But the decision to have WLS is never very far from my mind. I guess my major concerns with it right now asides from the risk factors and everything involved with getting the process started is how drastically my life will change after. Like food is the biggest part of my life and I'm worried about foods I can/can't eat after I have the surgery. You know I just want to be prepared for what's to come and I know that there are major changes involved with your eating habits after the surgery so I'm just really struggling with that. I HAVE decided that if I go through with this WLS that I do want to stay local. My GYN doctor is in Huntsville now so I know that I want to choose a surgeon there. Many people are recommending Dr. Facundus, but my GYN recommended Dr. Mailapur. I still don't really know. I think there's a WLS Seminar on Tue. Apr. 8th at 6pm for AL Surgical Associates which is where Dr. Facundus practices. I really want to attend it! And the good thing is my mom is off then so I think we're going! I will update about that after it happens.
