I have been overweight my whole life, as far back as I can remember. It has been very hard and challenging at times. I think my optimistic personality has kept me sane. I am a people person; I love to help people overcome their obstacles. Weightloss, and lack there-of is my obstacle, and I have tried everything possible to lose the weight. I would use crazy diets, diet pills, exercise, you name it. I would temporarily lose some weight, but I would always gain it all back plus some. It's depressing. I feel as if the person on the outside, like the person you and i see, isn't matching who I am on the inside. I am smart, fun, goofy, and I have a crazy side. I feel that I am hidden behind this obese figure. After graduating college in December, I took my boards in March and I started working as an RN in April at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, PA. Once I had my first real job, I then had health insurance, so I started to pursue the idea of gastric bypass. I attended my first info session in June, and I have been busting my butt trying to meet and do all of the pre-op appointments for clearance. I finally got everything submitted to insurance and I have my gastric bypass scheduled for September 11th. I am soooo crazy excited. I am ready for a new me. I can't wait to use this as a tool to achieve my weight loss goals. I am very very excited, but I am becoming slightly nervous for the surgery. I have never had surgery before, just my wisdom teeth cut out! This website was on the back of a packet I received from the nutritionist, so I thought I'd see what it was all about!
