To start my journey I have to understand and learn all there is to know so that I can be successful at this.

I saw my doctor last week and discussed how, the longer I have been unable to exercise without severe pain, the higher my weight has been getting.  I asked what she thought of WLS and she felt that with my long history of obesity, I would be a good candidate.  I have high blood pressure, high triclycerides, reflux, athritis, edema, fibromyalgia, and have been pretty much a couch potatoe due to a knee injury last June.  I had knee surgery in fall but have not had any relief.  Hauling around this much weight has not helped any.  Walking has become so painful that I rarely go out of the house.  When I do work my part-time job, my legs swell (despite diuretics) and I can not do my job without pain medication.  I feel my quality of life has become so affected that something has to change.

I see the nutritionist tomorrow for the start of the 6 months my doctor says will be needed to satisfiy the insurance company.

My goals are to be able to do normal activities such as grocery shopping, working with out vicadin, and riding my hubbies Harley which is not even and option right now.  Trying to get on the bike with my excess weight is how I messed up my knee last summer.  I want to be active again!!!!!
