Slow Going

Feb 17, 2009

Well I'm about 175 now, but I haven't weighed in almost 2 weeks.  I can sadly eat and drink anything without dumping.  I almost wish I did. I don't eat anything in the same quantity as I did before. So now instead of a whole box of Oreos, I only eat 4. I feel bad about it. So I try not to keep sweets in the house at all. But with 2 kids and a husband with a sweet tooth it's difficult. Luckily I have lost the desire to eat ice cream. It's too sweet to me now.  I stay away from breads but I can eat crackers and pasta with no problem.  Salad goes down really well, but I'm just barely starting to be able to tolerate chicken.  Red meat including fajita and steak is fine, but for some reason the chicken always got stuck and I would get a case of the foamies. It's getting better now, but I have to make sure and eat slowly. I'm still eating a protein bar every morning for breakfast. It's very filling and has 30grams of protein.  My hair started really thinning out so I started a hair, nails and skin vitamin with Biotin. It's really helping and my hair is growing faster - which unfortunately means I have to dye my hair more often to cover the gray! Yuck. I bought a Wii Fit and for the first 2 weeks was using it every day and loving it.  But then we started remodeling the house and I haven't been on since.  So my next goal is to start exercising again. I think I'm going to join a gym.

I know they say that the surgery is a tool.  Well, I'm definitely realizing it. It's easy to sabotage your own weight loss by having sodas and sweets and not eating vegetables. I need to be better.
