I've reached my first 2 goals! I was so excited that I HAD to take a picture. Dont mind the granny slippers and my PJ's.. look at that number!! How perfect is that? Not an ounce above or below.. just 199! Oh this number alone makes the surgery so worth it!

In 11 weeks (+ a day) I have lost a total of 50 lbs! It feels so good!

So.. here's a little "duh" moment I had when taking this photo... I was so excited to see 199 on the scale, that the first thing I thought of doing was taking the picture right? Well.. I went to grab my camera, stepped back on the scale and it read 202 lbs! I was like WHAT THE HELL!? Well.. duh! My camera obviously weighs 3 lbs! So I actually set up a tripod just to get this perfect shot!

    = 60 lbs total lost
    = half of my excess weight lost
    = half way to goal of 130 lbs

I can NOT get to my first goal and its starting to really irk me! For the last 2 weeks, my weight has been teedering between 203 and 205 lbs. I finally got to 200 lbs this morning, and now I am back at 203. I just want over (under, rather) that 200 mark!

I have a new addiction... I found some Cappucino mix at walmart, carb wise, sugar free and sweetened with splenda. It is soooooo delicious! I crush 4-5 ice cubes, add 7 ounces of water, and 2 tablespoons of the instant mix, and walla! A 50 calorie peice of heaven.

Ive never liked coffee before, hot or cold. But I figure.. I gave up 3 addictions since surgery 1) my addiction to 'bad' food 2) quit smoking 3) quit sitting on my lazy ass all day, so I deserve to add a new one right?

What have I been eatting? Oh probably a couple of things that I shouldnt be, but mostly healthy. I did have a half  slice of a bagel tonight, just because I missed the taste. It didnt taste like it used to though so I wont be trying that again. My favorite snack foods are smoked almonds and Genisoy Soy Crisps. My favorite meal has to be the bacon wrapped filet mignon and spinach salad my daughter and I made the other night.

Since my surgery.. my daughter has also lost just over 15 lbs! She hasnt really been doing anything different, other than eatting healthier and exercising abit more. She's really doing great!  I am so glad the whole family is starting to become more health conscience. My husband, although over in Iraq right now, has started a regular vitamin and nutrition regimen, and works out pretty hard core atleast once a day. Ive already had to send out new uniforms because his muscles are busting out of his old ones. I cant wait to see him, and for him to see me!

Anyways.. I suppose Ill post again if I ever get under 200 lbs and to my 50 lbs lost goal!

I finally bought a home treadmill yesterday, and Ive spend a total of 2 hours on and off of it since then. Today.. I had gained 3 lbs! What the heck?!

I havent been around much.. alot going on right now :)

I just realized something today...

I was thinking about what the first couple of goals I wanted to accomplish were and my 2 immediate goals are to lose 50 lbs and to get under 200 lbs. Well,  Ironically.. when I get to 199 lbs (under 200) I will have lost exactly 50 lbs. How cool is that? 2 goals at once!

This photo of my food log I created for myself was taken with my *new* Camera!! I still have no idea what I am doing with it, but this picture turned out pretty good for a beginner.

Today I started excercising, seriously. I went half a mile (10 minutes) on the Gazelle, then I did some arm with tension bands. I'll up the mileage as I go, but I think I am going to stick to doing 10 minute runs 3x a day, for 5 days a week. We'll see how it goes.. its just too cold to go outside or to the gym to work out. This will have to do, atleast I am getting more excercise than I used to pre-op.

Anyways.. not really anything else going on around here. My ring is starting to fall off, which means I am losing weight in my fingers and today I am exactly 6 weeks out post-op! I am down 37 lbs!

Wow, its been 10 days since I last updated? Where the hell have I been?

I swallowed my first pills today, and divided them up for am and pm. I am going to finish taking my winnie the pook chewable multi's until they are finished, and then switch back to my pre-op womens 1 a day. So right now I am taking my Biotin and Iron in the morning, and my Calcium, GNC Hair Skin & Nails and my multi in the pm.

I realize that there is biotin in the GNC Hair Skin & Nails.. but I just want to be sure I have that and my protein covered so i dont lose all of my hair. Also I was told that taking Calcium and Iron at the same time arent good, so I seperated them. Hell... I dont even know if I need Iron right now, but it cant hurt.

I havent been to my 1 month post op appointment yet. We were snowed in when I had it scheduled.. and I just havent called back. Hmmm I wonder if i can call and ask if I can have my local PCM run my labs and I can do a consult with them over the phone. It just seems to be more of a pain in the ass than its worth to have to drive 2 hours there and 2 more back home just to walk in the center for a quick 5 minute appoint.

I havent slept in... oh 30 some hours. My sleep schedule was so messed up and I really enjoyed my mornings.. so I decided that I would stay awake until ATLEAST 9pm tonight and try to get it back to normal.

I am getting the Canon Rebel XTi Ive always wanted. I think photography has always been a passion of mine, but I just never had the money to buy that kind of camera. I am so excited! Oh yeah... I DID take Pre-Op and One month Post-Op comparission pictures.. and there is no way in hell I am going to post them here right now. There is definately a difference though.

Oh and I never realized before how boney my ass was until this week!


One Month post Op

I am exactly one month post op today and down 33 lbs.

Tonight.. I am making Mini Turkey Meatloaves, and I have some Mini Oatmeal/Protein Muffins in the oven.

I am finally using all of those 'mini' pans and dishes that always come in a set. I use all of my mini glasses, my mini muffin tins and I had to buy some mini loaf pans. I buy alot of food in mini packages too.. even my birthday 'cheesecake' was mini this year!

Hopefully dinner will sit right tonight. I'll probably just have a small slice of the (mini) meatloaf and maybe a spoonful of my SF cheesecake. Right now.. I am working on my protein.

An Update

It's been awhile. Things have been pretty hectic around here, and my schedule is all mixed up, but I need to start focusing and get things done. I have to sort out the Secret Pals program for February, I really didnt forsee as many problems so early into the year.. so I'll be busy with that over the next few days.

Today I am 4 weeks out of surgery! I've lost a total of 32 lbs (stalled my entire 3rd week) and have lost a bunch of inches! I still dont see where the weight has come off, but I plan on taking some progress pictures and making a one month out video.

I am starting to eat more 'solids', and just ordered a new WLS cookbook. I am REALLY liking seafood (salmon, shrimp etc.) right now.

I ordered some new IDS grape protein, the 42g vials and I like them so much better than the profect vials.. not to mention I am getting 17g's more protein in one. I still get alot of my protein from food, but I figure ya cant have enough!

Ive been having little snacks throughout the day. I started putting small portions of shredded cheese sprinkled with alittle garlic powder on parchment paper in the microwaving and melting it for a minute. I let them sit for about 5 minutes and they harden and become the most delicious cheese chips. I have 4 or 5 throughout the day. It curbs my craving for something salty & crunchy and adds protein at the same time!

Anyways, Im doing alright and I feel good. Ive dumped a few times this week, but I just need to slow down when eatting. I'll figure it out eventually!

Smells

I got my profect and have tried 2 different flavors now. Honestly, I absolutely HATE it, the taste is aweful and the smell alone is enough to make me sick. But... my daughter had a taste yesterday and said she couldnt smell anything and that it tasted like melted popsicles. I guess this could be because of the surgery, they did say my tastes would change. Anyways.. I still have 6 different flavors to try, so hopefully I'll find one I can stand because I love being able to get in that much protein with only 3 oz.

I am really struggling with fluids. Its hard to remember to keep sipping throughout the day, especially when I am so focussed on something else. I am however getting all of my protein in, which I know is hard for alot of people.
