Hazem Elariny

"UPDATE
I have always been interested in the Laprascopic surgery. The recovery time is shorter and there isn't that big scar. So I kept researching even after I had a surgeon and a surgery date. I found Dr. Elariny by searching this site and reading virtually everyone's bio. I got an appointment the same day I called. I did have to wait for over an hour to see him. He is very busy as his practice is starting to really take off. He is young and I like that. He will have steady hands :) He explained the history of bariatric surgery with diagrams and then explained that there are MANY options to WLS! I didn't even know that. I thought there was one procedure and that's it. I learned about the RNY proximal, middle, and distal...then the Duodenal Switch (DS). I decided that the DS is the best choice for me. It will allow me to eat more normal portions and the expected weight loss is 80% of my excess weight. Also, studies show that the long-term success is better with this DS surgery. I was very glad to find this other approach. I never would have known about it had I not gone to see Dr. Elariny.
I have also talked to other people about Dr. E and they all say that he is wonderful and really cares about his patients. Someone even did some research on him and found nothing bad at all. I feel completely comfortable with Dr. Elariny.
I still think that the first surgeon I saw is great but I really wanted the Laprascopic surgery rather than the open surgery.
"
