Well I'm 25 years old, Mother to the cutest little boy ever,Lucas... And wife to Rick. I've battled with my weight my whole life... When I was younger I was always the fat kid.. then in high school I evened out a little bit and I looked almost normal but still bigger than everyone else in my class.. Once I graduated I desided that I wanted to get away from home so I went and talked to the Air Force recuriter... I had to lose 10 pounds to get in... So I worked my butt off and I was leaving for the military 2.5 months later... I was at my all time low.. of 128.. I should have know it wouldn't last long... I went to my tech school to be a surgery tech and this is where I met my husband though we didn't get married for another 3 years.. :) Well I got stationed at Keesler and Rick went to Germany, we lost contact for a little while, but when we hooked back up we desided that we belonged together... Right before this I started having problems with my weight... I got the Depo shot and my weight went up 30lbs in a month.. I couldn't lose it as hard as I tried.. That when the downward spiral began with my weight... Rick and I got married in Jan 03. In Oct of 03 I was put out of the Air Force because I was over my weight limit... I started working at the VA in biloxi.. At this time I weighed 180lbs. In Feb 04 we found out that I was pregnant. then in April 04 I had a miscarriage.. Then I felt horrible I thought I was never going to be able to have children and I started gaining more... We kept tring to have a child and with no luck... Over a year later in June 05 I found out I was finally preggo... I didn't gain very much during my pregnancy, only about 15lbs. But that has put me up to 249lbs.. I'm so not happy about what I see in the mirror.. I want to be able to play with my son when he starts walking which is only a few months away.. Not to mention I'm having trouble with getting out of breath very easly, just walking up an incline will do me in.. Walking up one flight of stairs, I'm completely out of breath... Well i just hope that I will be able to have the WLS and become the person that I want to be...
My Timeline for my RNY surgery...
*July 06-Started Researching WLS
*October 17,06-Decided that I wanted to have RNY.
*March 27,07- Made PCM appt.
*April 18,07- PCM appt-got General Surgery referral
*May 11,07- General Surgery appt.. I'm a great canidate!
*June 14,07- Psyhic appt.. cleared by the crazy's.. :)
*June 25,07- Nutrition appt.
*August 2,07- Pre-op class
*August 27,07- Call from nurse with pre-op date & surgery date.
*Sept 5,07- Pre-op appt's.
*Sept 6,07- SURGERY!!!! My new beginning...
