Well, I'm 24 years old and have been obese for most my life. I'm married and I have two little girls. I was put on my first diet when I was 8 and continued to be on and off diets since. When I was 14, I weighed 277lbs and decided enough was enough and in 2 years I went from 277lbs to 182lbs. I stayed between 182 and 215lbs until I got pregnant with my first daughter. I gained 67 lbs with that pregnancy. A year and a half later, I was 260lbs and ended up pregnant again and gained 37lbs. I had lost all the baby weight with my second daughter, but gained it all back due to what life has thrown at me. I have heard about gastric bypass surgery and decided to look into it. I read all the information and to tell you the truth I was scared. I thought I would try everything else first. Nothing worked and I ended up wasting tons of money. On top of all this I started getting hip pain, knee pain, etc. I had to think about my health and my family and how having this surgery will probably save my life and 2 years later, I decided that I would have the surgery. My surgery date is August 5, 2008. I'm really excited, nervous, and overwelmed all at the same time, but I know after all is said and done, I will be a healthier and happier person.
