Hello my name is Teresa and I am currently as of this post 42 yrs old 10/2008. I am 9 years post op, having had my surgery 10/26/1999. I was 500 lbs in 1996 took fen-phen and got down to 350 lbs and gained back up to 400 lbs by the time I had my gastric surgery in 1999. I would say the surgery took me down to about 280 lbs and after that I was in it, like everyone else counting calories and exercising to try and get down in size. I made it all the way down to 209 lbs...in 2005. Then I had a baby and today I still struggle with food addictions really bad...I eat 10 times better then I did when I was 500 lbs changing my eating habits drastically but I still am a food addic...I exercize constantly and always have but I sit here at 235 lbs and am having a hard time maintaining but I am so grateful for the surgery....certainly 235 is a far cry from 500 and I a mobil and I was able to have a daughter..... I am so grateful for my life! today 10/27/2008 I am 235 lbs and now I am trying to just get my eating together again. I have had no ill side effects from Gastric and I am so healthy.
