Update

Dec 04, 2010

Wow it's been awhile since I have been on here.  Now with all my extra energy I don't sit still very often and always seem to be on the go and loving life.  I am 21 months from surgery,  down 152 pounds, went from a very snug 28 to a 3, and have endless energy.  I am so very thankful for the gift my surgery has given me.  My outside finally matches my inside :)

YAY

Apr 19, 2009

What can I say.  Today I was speechless and you couldn't wipe the smile off of my face.  I have been feeling a little sad because I was wanting results faster then what is possible.  I look everyday trying to see a difference and I can't.

I am down 23 pounds and 6.5 inches in a month and I am very happy about that, just wanted to see more changes in my body, so I went rummaging through the closet to see what I could try on.  Well to my surprise I found a pair of jeans that I haven't been able to fit into for over a year, so I tried them on not thinking that I would even be able to get them up.

They did, and I did them up no problem.  THEY FIT!!!!!!!!!   What a rush.  So I have gone from a 26/28 to a 20 in a month.  I cried....again.  lol

I love my RNY!!!!!!!!!!

Wow

Apr 04, 2009

Wow time has just flown by.  I am almost 3 weeks post-op and I feel great.  THe first couple of weeks were hard, between the pain and trying to get fluids and walking in, but I hung in there.  Now I am down 16 pounds ( as of wed) and feel better then I have in a long time.

Dr.  Nunn is wonderful, incredible, amazing, and hot.  Did I mention that I think he is brilliant too.  Everyone at Barix is wonderful.  I can't say enough about them.

I will try to keep writing on here more often to document a little better my journey.  I am so glad that I did this for myself.  Like I have said before 2009 is going to be one hell of a year.

I went to my GP today and well he is going to submit the paperwork for out of province funding.   I am SOOOO EXCITED.  Now the ball is rolling.
My hunny asked me what I wanted for my birthday ( it is jan 1st) and I said a surgery date.
I was a little concerned, he said that my blood work came back with some issue's with my liver.  He accused me of drinking, which I really don't.  He said the levels are elevated.  Either all this extra weight or all the meds I am on.  Take your pic.  I am just keeping my fingers crossed.

Well I went for the first consultation today, and it just put the 2% of hesitation that I had to rest.  The facitlity was clean and organized, and all of the staff were very nice, and worked like a well oiled machine.
I sat through the presentation and then we were all asked to go back to the waiting rooms.  Luckily I was one of the first ones there so I was taken into a room right away and my weight and vitals were taken, along with a list of questions.  I didn't get to meet with Dr. Nunn, but I did meet with his assistant Stephanie.  She put my two biggest concerns to rest, my meds for my bi-polar, and pregnancy afterwards.  The whole team was excellent, both in knowledge and making me feel comfortable.
 I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I just have to wait til the ninth for my GP apt. and aparently my doc is very familiar with Barix so that is a bonus, and my approval from OHIP and I will be on my way.  I can't wait to join the loosers bench.
