4 Months post-op
Nov 15, 2008
It has been a while since I updated. On Aug 20 I got pancreatitis and was hospitalized for a week in Tucson. Then I was transported to Phoenix via ambulance to get my gall bladder out. I was hospitalized for another week. I went home for 4 days and got readmitted for pancreatitis in phoenix for 10 more days. I got sent home on a central line with TPN attached. The line got infected and I ran a fever for a week. I have been doing ok since then. Yesterday has been 4 months since surgery. I've lost about 60lbs and 2 pant sizes.
One Month Post-Op!
Aug 14, 2008
Well today is one month since I had surgery. I am down about 20 pounds. Right now I am still very tired and I still get a lot of pain at night on my left side. I am NEVER hungry but I know I must eat and drink and get enough protein each day. Hopefully I will have a before pic and one month post-op pic posted soon!
Scrambled Eggs
Aug 09, 2008
So I tried scrambled eggs yesterday and what a mistake. I only had a couple of bites and the pressure in my chest was sooo bad. If I didn't know it was from the food I would have thought I was having a heart attack. It hurt for hours and at some points I felt nauseous. I guess I will wait a couple of weeks and then try them again....what an awful feeling.
3 weeks post-op
Aug 06, 2008
I had my 2 week follow-up appointment with Dr. Fang yesterday. I lost 13 pounds so far. I can't believe it. He told me I can go swimming, go back to work, and the best part...EAT MUSHY FOOD! I was so excited, I had mashed potatoes for lunch. Yesterday afternoon, i went to visit a nurse I had on the 8th floor for 6 hours before I went to ICU. I also visited my favorite nurse Augustine. I went to an education class last night, followed by a support group. Wow...I can't believe how great some of the people look after 1+ years. I met another girl who had the surgery last week and we are going to keep in touch.
