I have been looking on this website for several weeks now. I figured that I should go ahead and update my profile.

December 18, 2005
I submitted my package to NewStart on December 8, 2005 and I called Friday 12/16/05 and they finally received it. I have had my TCH (thyroid) test and it came back normal. I go tomorrow to my doctor to talk to him about the surgery (lap RNY) in hopes that he will write the letter and then I can get the ball rolling. I went to the seminar last week as well so I think the only thing I have to do next is to schedule an appointment with the Psychologist for my Psych Eval. Well, here's hoping. I have considered the surgery for the past couple of years and have put it on the back burner until recently. I have a couple of friends who have had RNY and have been talking to them and researching a lot on the net.

Currently I am at about 5 feet 0 inches, 311 and this is the heaviest that I have ever been in my life. (although I get very often, "you don't look like you weigh that much") I have tried almost every diet known to man and I am tired of the Yo Yo syndrome. Lose 30, gain 50 etc...I have been consistently working out for about the past couple of months and I have basically been maintaining and or losing 2-5 pounds but that is about it...no real big loss. I am not an emotional eater but I guess I just eat the wrong foods. I am hoping that this will help me to learn to eat right and be a lifelong change for me. I have had elevated blood pressure readings and high cholesterol readings as well and do not want to eventually be put on hypertension meds (although my doc has had me on hydrochlorithiazide *sp) for a while now which is just a water pill. There is history of hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease in my family and I don't want to have any of those issues. I will keep you posted on my progress....

December 23, 2005-On Monday December 19, 2005 I Went to the doctor to talk to him about WLS. He was very behind so I ended up talking with the nurse practioner who suggested the WLS several months ago. She agreed that it would be a good decision and decided to have me do an EKG in the office. I did do one and it came back normal. One of the nurses that did my EKG was going to write the letter for my Doctor to sign. She said she would fax it over to me today. Well, today is December 23, 2005 and I still haven't gotten it as of yet. On Wednesday she faxed me a rough draft copy and I had her add some things and remove and correct...I still haven't gotten the letter yet for me to send to the program. I am on vacation next week and hope to have it by Tuesday. I also have made my appt. for my Psych Eval. I go there Tuesday (12/27/05) and I should be there for like 3 hrs or so. One hour for the evaluation and a 2hr test....so we will see. But the WL program that I am going through cannot start reviewing my packet until they have the letter from the doctor. I will call again Tuesday morning and hopefully I will hear the words, "come and pick up your letter," then I can send it off.
I will keep you posted. Oh and according to their scale, I am at 300...but I think it is a little off...but I haven't weighed on my own scale lately...till next time...:-)

December 28, 2005
I had my Psych Eval yesterday and man oh man...I had to take that MMPI test and it was 567 questions. I should have the results in 2 weeks or less. I also got my letter from my doctor and they faxed it to NewStart. they can't process anything until they have all the info in hand so the only thing I am waiting on is the Psych Eval to come back. After that, they say they will review my packet and make sure everything is in tact, then the surgeon will look at it (which takes a week or less) then they will submit it to my insurance company. So here's hoping, prayers prayed and fingers crossed.

January 5, 2006
Happy New Year everyone...I hadn't posted this year yet because still no news. I called the psychologist today and they still haven't received my results from the MMPI test. It has not been two weeks yet, but I figured, what the heck, I would call to ask anyway and the receptionist said they weren't in yet and it could take two weeks or less so I guess I will call again next tuesday which will be exactly two weeks.
Wednesday, January 11, 2006 will be my 33rd birthday..whew, I am getting up there...But I thank God everyday for letting me see another day of life and I thank Him for other things of course as well. I have already consulted the primary doctor about my surgery and no, I am not talking about my PCP or my surgeon...I am talking about the head doctor in charge...GOD!!!! I have Faith in him that everything will go smoothly. Until next time, be Blessed and take care. I will give an update as soon as I hear something.

January 6, 2006
Well, I didn't think I would be back here so soon. I received a call from the Psychologists office this morning and she stated that my results and the evaluation were completed. She faxed them to me and also over to NewStart. I called them to make sure that they had received it and they did. However, the person that I deal with who is working my file wouldn't be in until Monday. Well, the surgeon only reviews files on Tuesdays and the Nurse has to review it prior to submitting it to the surgeon. Anyway, I asked the woman who answered could she put my file up for review even though my contact person wasn't there and she said sure no problem...so hopefully the nurse will review it and get it to the surgeon so he can look at it by Tuesday (the 10th)...That was the ONLY thing they were waiting on before they could review my file and submit it to the surgeon and then to the insurance company....so again, here's waiting.

January 10, 2006
Well, I called NewStart yesterday to make sure that the nurse reviewed my file and to make sure that Dr. Richardson will be able to review it Tuesday (today) and to my surprise, the nurse reviewed it and Dr. Richardson had already signed off on it yesterday. They are to submit my information to the insurance company today via fax so again...here's waiting....hopefully I will have an answer soon.

January 11, 2006
Today is my birthday and I thank God that I am able to see another year. I called NewStart to make sure that the information was faxed and she stated that it was faxed today and to give them two weeks and if I don't hear anything to call them after that...so I will wait two weeks and see what happens....:-)

January 18, 2006
I AM APPROVED!!!!!!!! I called the Insurance Company to check and see and they said that I was approved!!!! woo hooooo...This is all moving so fast. I have to call NewStart and see when I can get a date. I am moving forward with my journey....To God be the Glory!!!

January 20, 2006
I received a call this morning to schedule my consultation with the surgeon. I go on January 31, 2006. At that time I will meet with the dietician and also the surgeon. Again, this is moving so fast. At that time they will give me a date so I can start my new life. I still haven't told very many people because I wanted to get everything done and a date then I will let the family know. I have already told my mother, my guy and a few close friends. I still have to tell my Dad, my grandmother, aunts and uncles. Once I get a date, I will talk to them. I am not sure of their reactions, but I will assure them that this is my decision and I need their support. I have already cleared it with the Head Doctor in Charge...God!!! I have prayed about it and prayed about it and I KNOW WHOS I AM, so as long as I have His clearance then I know that I am "Safe in His Arms." I will update after my consult or if anything happens interesting before then...Take care and God Bless!!!

January 31,2006
Well, I had my surgery consult today. I met with the dietician first and that was extremely informative. A lot to remember, but thankfully she gave us a booklet to read through. After that I met with Dr. Richardson. He is a very down to earth man who was patient, funny and caring. We talked for a while and he explained everything and answered all of my questions and wasn't in a hurry as some doctors are. After I finished talking with him, Chris, the program coordinator came in and now I have a date scheduled....It is February 28, 2006. So I am excited and nervous at the same time. One thing that did come to a surprise for me was that I have to do a clear liquid diet for two weeks prior to the surgery...yes, two whole weeks...whew that is going to be hard, but I will make it. Well, I should be receiving a call within the next week or so to schedule all of my pre-op testing and I will keep you posted. (oh and I weighed in at 304.5 so I did lose a few pounds...wooo hooo, not that I was really trying but I guess it just happened like that. Take care and be Blessed and for all of you who may be reading this, please keep me in your prayers.

February 4, 2006
I received a call yesterday to schedule my pre-op tests. I will go on Friday, February 10, 2006 and I will have to be there at 7am. Then surgery is at 8:30 am on February 28, 2006 and I will have to be there at 6:30am. Now I am excited and nervous at the same time. I have been praying to God about this non-stop and I know he will never leave me nor forsake me and that I am in His care. Again, I pray that all of the tests come back fine and that there will not be any problem during the tests, surgery, and recovery. Take care and be Blessed...

February 12, 2006
Well, I went to have all of my pre-op tests done on Friday the 10th and that went well. I had to have an EKG, a pulmonary function test, and lab work done. I then talked to the nurse and she filled out a lot of papers and asked a lot of questions, then the anesthesiologist came in and I talked to him for a while. I start my clear liquid diet on Wednesday the 15th for two weeks and surgery is the 28th. So please pray for me that I make it through these two weeks of liquids and also for a uneventful surgery and speedy recovery. Only two more weeks and I will be sitting on the losers bench...wooo hooooo....I will update it when I can. Take care

February 23, 2006
I am on Day 9 of my two week clear liquid diet and I must say it is getting a little easier. Days 1 and 2, I was ready to bite some heads off...lol It is extremely hard and for some reason last night i was smelling fried fish. Now I wasn't anywhere near any fish and hadn't been anywhere they were cooking it. I guess my mind is playing tricks on me. Although I would love to have some Jack Fillet right now...lol I have never drank or eaten so much broth, propel, sugarfree jello, sugarfree popsicles, atkins and slim fast low carb shakes in my life as I have in these 9 days. One good thing about it is as of yesterday morning, I have lost 11.5 pounds(which means my BMI has changed)...wooo hoooooo. I only have 4 more days til the big day. Please continue to pray for me. I will try and post again right before surgery. I will have my mom update my page and also in the forums...until then...take care :-)

March 2, 2006
Hey everyone, I am home. Thanks to you all that have prayed for me and signed my surgery page. I am not in too much pain. Only when I get up or sit down. Other than that, I am fine. The hospital stay was very pleasant, I had a lot of nice nurses and PCT's that really took care of me. When I weighed in before surgery, I was down to 285.5 which means during the two week liquid diet, I had lost 20 pounds...I didn't get weighed before I left the hospital but I do go on March 7, 2006 to the doc for my one week follow up and I will let you all know what happens. I will try and post before then, but I have to get my rest...so take care and again ALL PRAISES TO GOD!!! Thank you Jesus!!!! He is Jehovah Rafah-God our Healer!!!!! Be Blessed!!!!

March 5, 2006
I am feeling pretty good today, I guess I can begin about my surgery day experience and stay.

My mother and I arrived at the hospital at about 6:30am and I had to fill out all of the paperwork and then they took me to the floor I would be on and I got weighed and went into a room and was told to take off all of my clothes and put on the gown. Then they let my mom and dad come in and then the nurse came in to put the IV in. They couldn't get a good vein on the top of my hand so they had to put them in each wrist (which was really uncomfortable). We stayed in that room for a while and the nurse shot some stuff in my IV and said ok, it is your turn and that was the last thing I remember before waking up in recovery. When I woke up, I had the most awful back pain. My back was hurting soooooo badly and I was asking for a nurse to put a pillow under my back and I don't know if they heard me, but finally they came and put a couple of pillows under my back and then rolled me to my room. In which my mom, dad, and grandmother was there waiting on me. My stay in the hospital was a good one. No problems and all of the nurses were extremely nice. The second day I was in the hospital I felt like I had to belch and did and then it felt like one was stuck and I felt like I had to throw up. I told the nurse then sat on the side of my bed and it all came up. I felt a whole lot better after that. Then came home Thursday and I have been feeling pretty good everyday. I haven't had to take any pain meds since i left the hospital. (Thank you Jesus) I have minimal pain getting up and sitting down and it gets better each day. The only problem that I am having is that I am having a hard time getting in all of my fluids...but I am trying. I really don't have much of an appetite at all. But I can't wait til next week when I can have creamed soups and cream of wheat, etc...I have been on clear liquids for 3 weeks now and it is very boring. (2 weeks prior to surgery) But I will say like the song says..."I won't complain..." Til next time take care and be Blessed!!!!

March 10, 2006
On March 7, 2006, I went to the doctor for my 1 week post op appt. I saw the dietician first. It was about 4 of us in the room talking to her and we talked about eating, different stages, etc. Then I saw the doctor and the nurse removed the staples and the drain. I really didn't know what to expect about the removal of the drain, but I actually didn't really feel it. She was finished before I knew it. I am down a total of 23 pounds from the first appt. with the doc. I am sure I lost the bulk of that during the 2 weeks of clear liquid prior to surgery. I am on full liquids now and I must say that I am extremely happy that I have moved in stages and can't wait to get to the next stage...soft foods....Today I feel good. The area where the drain was is still a little sore but not bad. I guess that is to be expected. Especially since I am only a little over a week out.

March 28, 2006
Today I had my one month post op appointment. I am down 35 pounds total and am weighing in at 270 pounds. I am so excited. I have moved up in stages in food so that is good. I return to work tomorrow so I am sure that is going to be a challenge with having to get up and get out and getting back in the swing of things, but I am ready...:-) not too much more to report....

April 20, 2006
I know I haven't updated in a while...just been a little busy. I weighed this morning and I am down a total of 43 pounds...woooo hooooo!!!! I haven't been updating with my weight loss too much because I do not get on the scale that often. I try not to get on but maybe twice a month, if that often...but nevertheless, I am ever so happy about my weight loss. I feel tremendous!! I can eat pretty much normally now, with the exception of the portion size. I mean that everything that I have tried to eat, so far no problems...So far, so good..Thank you Jesus!!! I am looking forward to the summer and what my weightloss will be. I have added a picture trail to keep track of my progress. I have worn a few outfits and blouses that have been in my closet that I have not been able to fit in months and I was excited about that. I don't go back to the doctor until May 30, 2006 for my 3 month appt. I have been consistently exercising and trying to get my body in shape and toned...well, till next time take care and God Bless...

May 18, 2006
Well, not too much going on...same old, same old...i have still been working out and trying to eat right. I am so excited about my new journey. I got on the scale yesterday morning and am now down a total of 53 pounds. I go to the doc on the 30th for my 3 month checkup. I am going to try not to get on the scale until I go to the doctor...it is real what they say when you have lost weight. I cannot tell by looking at myself in the mirror, although i can tell in my clothes and by what people say...so many people have commented on how much I have lost and so on. Well, hopefully I will be able to tell soon. But I have been wearing clothes that I have not worn in 2 years....:-) till next time take care!

May 30, 2006
Went to the doctor today for my 3 month post op appointment and I am doing very well he said. I am down a whopping 57 pounds...woooo hooooo. I am still working out on a regular basis and am getting compliments left and right. (I just love it)...:-)
Today is my daughter's birthday and I took her to Red Lobster and we both enjoyed it. Take care and be Blessed!!!

June 23, 2006
Nothing too much to report, life is going good and I am loving every minute of my new journey. I am down a total of 66.5 pounds and have gone from a 24/26 to an 18/20..woooo hooooooo...lol I have not purchased many clothes because I am still losing and don't want to waste the money and not be able to stay in them. I have purchased a couple of tops and a couple of bottoms, but not a lot. This mental thing about looking in the mirror and not seeing a change is soooo true. I really can't see the difference in the mirror, but in my clothes, the scale, and other people complimenting me, I can tell the difference. I can also tell if I look at the before pics and the now pics...man oh man, I look at them and say, how did I let myself get that large....I am truly happy that I have made this decision because I know with the road I was traveling of obesity, I would have ended up with a lot of co morbidities that could have cost me my health and ultimately my life. I would like to thank my BAF family for all their love and support along my journey. So many questions have been asked and thoroughly answered. I know whenever I have a question, I know where to go. My family is very supportive as well and so is my boo...I know I tear his ear up with talk about my weightloss and what I have been eating, my journey, and my pictures, but he supports me 110%...and he loves me for me and that is all that matters....I will try to post more often and keep you updated on what is going on in my world. I will also keep the picturetrail updated so make sure you take a look. Until next time, be Blessed!!!

July 30, 2006
It has been a little over a month since I checked in...My journey is still going very well. As of last Tuesday, I am down about 78 pounds and I have a lot of energy. I don't get winded walking up and down the steps like I used to or walking long distances. I still have not had any problems, thank you Jesus!!! Nothing too much new to report outside of the tremendous weightloss that I am really excited about...till next time, be Blessed and take care.

August 9, 2006
Everything still going well, I am a little over 5 months post op

On Sunday, August 6, 2006, I had to go to the ER. I was having severe pain in my back and shortness of breath. Every time I inhaled, the pain intensified which in turn caused me not to be able to breathe. I tried to just go to bed and not worry about, but I couldn't get comfortable and the pain was getting worse. I then went to the ER and got X rays, an EKG and some blood drawn. The final diagnosis was that I had gas and it was pressing against my lungs which caused me not to be able to breathe and caused my back to hurt. I had never had gas before and I didn't know that you could even get gas in your back...That was the worst pain ever. I didn't get gas after surgery like a lot of people told me would happen, so I didn't have a clue as to what the pain was. I was just praying that it wasn't a blood clot in my lungs...aka pulmonary embolism....and it wasn't, thank God!! Till next time, be Blessed!

August 23, 2006
I went to the doc yesterday to have some tests done on my gall bladder, as a result of the pain described above. The doctor wanted to make sure that it wasn't any problems with it. I had an ultrasound last week that came back negative for gall stones (thank you Jesus) so he wanted me to get some other tests which makes sure the gall bladder is functioning properly. The test came back that my gall bladder isn't functioning at 100% but the doc stated that since I am not having any problem and I do not have gall stones that it isn't an emergency to remove it. He just said that if I experience anymore pain to let him know. I also had my 6 month labs done while I was there and all is well. He did say that my white cell count is a little low, but can be normal because of all the weight that I have lost. He said he will keep an eye on that. Now for the big news....I am down a total of 86.4 pounds...wooooo hooooo yippeeeeeee...lol I am too excited. I have so much more energy now than ever before. Working out at the gym is no longer a dreaded chore...:-) Take care and be Blessed.....

September 27, 2006
It has been a little over a month since I have updated, but all is well. I think I have hit a plateau because I have been at this same weight for about 2-3 weeks now. I am down 92 pounds at 7 months post op and am truly elated with my results. I had a true wow moment yesterday when I went and bought some clothes because my fall/winter clothes are WAYYYYY too big. (which is a good thing) but I went to the store and was able to purchase tops at a size 14/16 and some size 16 bottoms...yayyyyy me!!! I also was able to fit a size XL top in the regular section of the store and NOT the pluz size section. So needless to say, I am very excited about my weightloss thusfar. I continuously thank God for my new lease on life. Well until next time, take care and be Blessed!!!

October 26, 2006

Hey there, guess what??!!!???  I am down a whopping 103 pounds as of yesterday morning.  I am too excited.  I have bought some size large tops and I think I am still in a 16 bottom, haven't bought too many clothes.  I was able to buy a coat in a size xl compared to the size 3x coat that I bought just last winter,  what a big difference.  I will be cleaning out my closet this weekend and someone will be Blessed with some clothes because it isn't anything I can do with my old 24's and 26's.  Or even my size 3x sweaters and winter tops.  This is great and I thank God everyday for my new lease on life.  I just wish that I can see what everyone else sees...lol  I can see a little loss but not 100 pounds worth...Anyway, take care and until next time, be Blessed!!!

November 29, 2006

Wow, I haven't updated this in about a month or so now...So much has been going on.  Well, on November 3, 2006 I was admitted into to the hospital because for 3 days I was having stomach pains off and on and I just thought that it was gas.  I was taking Pepcid and Gax X, well needless to say that wasn't really working.  So by Friday, I was doubled over in pain and I went to the ER, they ran some tests and thought that it might be my gall bladder, well it wasn't that.  Then my surgeon thought that my intestines were twisted and that I may have developed a hernia.  So I went from one hospital to my surgeons hospital bout 50 minutes away for emergency surgery.  Well, he performed surgery and got in there and saw that I had scar tissue from my intestines to my new stomach.  The scar tissue had wrapped around my intestine causing nothing to flow through.  Well, after surgery I was fine, no stomach pain, only the soreness from the surgery.   As of now, no more pain and all is well (thank you Jesus!)  As far as weightloss, I have slowed down a bit.  I am down about 107 pounds and I am in about a 16 bottom and a large or some xl tops.  I was Blessed and received some clothes from someone and that helped out tremendously.  I think I want to lose about another 35 or so pounds.  I want to be able to fit into a size 12 comfortably.  Well, no other real news going on....so until next time be Blessed and take care.

January 12, 2006

Yesterday I celebrated my 34th birthday and I must say thank you Jesus for allowing me to see another year.  I am so Blessed and happy that I have a new lease on life.  I am currently down about 120 pounds and wearing a size 14.  I haven't been a 14 since my Freshman year in college, way back in 1990.  I am loving every minute of my new body.  I have given so many clothes away and have been able to really clean out my closet and my drawers.   I have come such a long way, I look back at my before pictures and look at me now and say wow...what a difference almost a year makes.   Not really anything new going on.  Just trying to continue my exercising and working the tool that I have been given.  Until next time, be Blessed, take care and Happy New Year!!!

February 18, 2007

Well, in just 10 days, I will be at a year post op.  I thank God everyday for my new life.  I am currently down about 129 pounds, weighing in at about 175.  I feel great, I have so much energy and I am loving buying the new smaller clothes.  But when I shop, I still have the mindset that I am supposed to be in the plus sized section and in actuality, I can't fit the plus sized clothes.   I am still in about a 14, although I haven't tried anything smaller than that.  I may try and 12 and see what happens...lol  But I am so used to shopping at plus sized stores, Ashley Stewart is my FAVORITE store.  Well, I can fit SOME of their 14's but most of them are too big.  Which of course is a good thing.  I think at this point, I only want to lose about another 10 pounds or so.  Well, not too much more to report.  I have updated my picturetrail, in which I try to do often and have added pics to the photos section on my page.  Feel free to take a look...Well, until next time, take care and be Blessed!!!

February 28, 2007

This time last year, I was embarking upon a new journey in my life.  I decided to take control over my life and my health.  This is the best decision that I have ever made as far as my weight is concerned.  I started off at 304.5  and wearing a size 24/26 and to date, I am weighing in at about 175 and wearing a size 14.  woooo hooooo....129 pounds gone!!!!  Thank you Jesus!!!  I am the same size now that I was my senior year in highschool and I never thought that I would be this size again.  I am loving every minute of my new body.  I keep my picture trail updated and I think sometimes I take too many pictures, but I love being in front of the camera and seeing the new me.  I like to compare the pre op pics to the post op pics....I just want to say thank you to all of those who have supported me and my decision, those who have encouraged me and even my one friend who did the two week pre op liquid diet with me to show her support.  Thanks T.   Thank you to my BAF family, thank you to those who have given me clothes when my old clothes were too big.  Thank you Jesus for allowing me to see yet another day!  Be Blessed and take care!

April 30, 2007

Wow, it has been 2 months since I have updated.  Nothing new really going on.  I have hit a plateau and I have lost about 132 pounds and have been here for about a month or so.  Spring has sprung and it has been about 86-90 degrees here for the past few days.  That is a good and bad thing.  Good because I love the warm weather, but somewhat bad (and a good thing too, don't get me wrong) but I don't have any spring/summer clothes that I can fit.  Yesterday I was trying to find something to wear to church that would be cool enough for the 86 degree weather and it was TRULY a task.  Sometimes funds don't always allow me to purchase clothes at will, but at some point I will definitely need to do that for spring and summer.   Last Summer I was in a size 18/20 so all of my summer clothes from last year are wayyyy too big.  Considering that I am in Large tops and some of my 14 bottoms are too big.  I bought a pair of size 14 capri's from The Avenue Saturday and guess what...they were too big!  So I am officially out of the Avenue and I am sure my favorite store which was Ashley Stewart.  That is a good thing.  I have to figure out what size I am in now and where I can shop.  :-)  Oh well, nothing more to report.  Loving the new me of course...till next time.  Take care and be Blessed!!!

June 26, 2007

Wow almost 16 months out.  I went to the doc today because I have been having some stomach pains since Saturday and was a little concerned.  Well first off, I got on the scale at the docs office and was a little surprised I was weighing 168 pounds, which means I have lost 5 more pounds...woo hooooo!!!  so for a total weightloss of 137 pounds.  Wow!!!  I bought a dress (the green and brown one in my pics) and it was a size 9/10.  I was totally surprised when I tried it on and was able to actually zip it up with no struggle.  "Praise God from whom ALL Blessings flow!"  Oh, now back to what the doc said, he said I need to eat more fiber and take a mild laxitive.  In other words, I was/am constipated.  At least that is all I hope it is.  If that doesn't work, then I will have to go back and get an ultra sound of my gall bladder to make sure I haven't developed gall stones.  Anywho, that is about all of the new news to report.  All is well with me.  I hope all is well with you!  Until next time, take care and be Blessed!!!

Well, I am home from the hospital.  After that incident above, the next day, Wednesday evening, I had to go to the ER with those same stomach pains but worse and vomiting.  They admitted me and ran several tests.  The Xray showed that I had a lot of feces built up and my surgeon said that he thought it was my gall bladder and that I should get it taken out.  They gave me a laxitive which worked and he said I could see if that relieved the pain or I could just get my gall bladder taken out.  Well, I opted to just wait.  I then ate my dinner in the hospital and there the pain came again, not as bad, but nevertheless it was there.  So I then was scheduled to have my gall bladder taken out on Tuesday, July 3, 2007.  I went to the hospital for surgery to have my gall bladder taken out.  Dr. Richardson got in there and found that I had a twisted bowel.  He then corrected that and removed my gall bladder as well since it wasn't functioning properly anyway.  So, now I am home recouperating.  I am a little sore, but no stomach pain.  I took some pain meds yesterday, but today I haven't had to take any.  I feel much better, just like i said, a little sore.  That is all I have to report, until next time, take care and be Blessed!!!

Hello all, wow it has been a whole two months since I have last updated.  Not a lot going on, nothing really new to report.  I am weighing in at about 165, I sometimes fluctuate between 165-167, but have been about this weight for several months now.  I am happy with how far I have come and I am content with the new me. Now the weather is cooling off some and fall/winter will be here before we know it and I will have to do some more shopping because all of my fall and winter clothes are too big.  I am wearing about a size 12 bottom and about a 10 or medium tops..Can you imagine that from a size 24/26 size 3X tops to a size 12 and medium tops...Wow, God is so good!!!  That is all I have to report as of now, take care and be Blessed!!!

Merry Christmas everyone, I must say that I am truly Blessed!!!  I had a wow moment on Sat 12/23/2007.  I bought several pairs of pants and I tried them on and they were all size 10's...the 12's were too big...wooo hooo...I even tried on some size 10 Levi's and they fit very well.  So you know I was too excited!!!!  I think that was almost the BEST Christmas gift that I could ever have.  I am currently weighing in at about 162 and size 10 bottoms and size medium tops (with a weightloss of about 143 pounds) ...So on this day, please remember, Jesus is the reason for the season and you all have a wonderful and Blessed day!!!

Well, well, well...this is the 1st blog of the new year...Happy New year to you all.  I am currently 2 years post op (2/28/08) and am loving every minute of my new journey.  To date I have lost approximately 152 pounds and came come from a size 24/26 to a size 10/12.  Never in a million years did I think that I would be here.  I have to thank God first of all (sounding like I am accepting a Grammy)  lol  Well, I am sure this is what it feels like.  Pure JOY!!!  I have had so much support on here, my family, my friends, and my guy(whom I overwhelm with new pictures everytime I take new ones.)  Everyone has been so supportive and I am still trying to get used the "new" me and people calling me "Slim" and "Skinny"...lol '

I also can't believe that I can shop in junior stores and actually fit the clothes-stores like Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, Body Central, etc...I am still in disbelief and I can also wear size 10's or medium pants out of NY & Co. and I bought some sweaters from there in a size small...I can't remember the last time I could wear a small sweater.  So for anyone reading this, please know that it is possible.  It isn't always easy and isn't a quick fix in the least bit.  It is ONLY a tool and you do have to work at it.  I have started back exercising.  I hadn't been to the gym in a couple of months and I am mainly focusing on weight lifting so I can tone and tighten up.  My arms are so sore from lifting, but I guess like they say-"No Pain, No Gain!"  lol  Well, no more news to report...till next time, be Blessed!!!
