Hi there, well apparently we are in sorta the same boat. I have Dr. Classen also for this surgery and everything you said about him is true. I have seen his record as well and feel totally confident about his skills.
I also understand your feelings about selfishness and your daughter; I have a 15 year old and an 11 yr old, both girls. I too wonder how will they prevail if something happens to me, but like you said about faith....you and I both know when HE calls for you it wont matter where we are or what we have done...we just belong to HIM. So feel the presence of his hand and mine when I say you are not alone.
I live in Fuquay Varina and attend Wake Tech Community College after a huge break I went back to school; got my GED in 2000 at age 32. Went on to college and have achieved an Associates in Business and 3 certificates at age 37....I often pray "man I hope this aint it.....cause I'm not done!
I have cleansed my spirit and inner being over a long period of time and now I just want the opportunity to do with all that I have become by having this surgery and saving my life.
Your daughter is 2, so she is young; thanks be to GOD for the opportunity of WLS. As I said before my kids are older, but one of the driving forces I have towards my surgery date is that I want to take care of them and not have it the other way around....I hate that I have become dependent on my children to do for me or themselves what I should be doing. You dont want that for your daughter....she should grow up happy with a mommy that can play and do the mall the thing with energy and just have a higher quality of life!
I pray for you on your journey that everything will come out as its supposed to be.....but in the end you know about sweet serenity....accept the things we cannot change and wisdom to the difference~God Speed!
