I am 34 years old, have battled with being overweight most of my life. I have very low self esteem because of the weight. I have been on so many diets and pills that I can't even remember. I need something that will work.

I have an appointment with my Dr. on 4-26-06. I can't wait, getting excited now. I really don't have alot of support from my family but I do have a great friend that is standing behind my decision. She is afraid for me, but understands how I feel and will be there for me as she always has in the past.... Thanks Bobbi! I met with the dietician, that was very interesting as she showed me the measurments of my meals that I will be eating. I was in shock, as that is only a bite right now...LOL. Oh well, I guess after the surgery, I will only want a bite. We shall see.

Well, I met with the Phsychiatrist last night. It went well, he didn't tell me I was crazy or anything, just that he felt I was a good candidate for the surgery and wished me luck! I really feel as this is going to happen now. I'm really getting excited.

Well, I guess I haven't been here in a while. I guess with everything going on I haven't had the time. I had a kidney stone on 4-26, surgery (Lithotripsy) was performed 5-3-06 so was out of it for a while. Had my appointment with my surgeon and it went well. He said he doesn't see a problem with me having the surgery and feels I will benefit from it greatly. I was so excited to hear that from him. He was really nice, but straight forward, didn't beat around the bush at all (which I guess is a good thing). I still have to have 2 weigh ins with my pcp for May and June and then we can get the ball rolling with the paperwork for the Insurance Company. I will update a little later. Take Care!
