"Deciding to have weight loss surgery is life changing. It took many years of failed dieting attempts, health problems and struggles with daily activities of life- such as painting my toe nails or sitting in a chair with arm handles before I explored weight loss surgery for myself. As a University Hospitals employee, I was connected with Dr. Leena Khaitan for an initial evaluation for weight loss surgery. From my very first appointment with Dr. Khaitan until today 2 years later- Dr. Khaitan has continued to treat me with kindness, compassion and quality physician/ surgeon care. It has not been an easy journey to loose the weight, although certainly life-changing and rewarding. Dr. Khaitan and her dedicated team of insurance specialists, dieticians and nurses have been right there with me on this journey. It is very apparent that her and the Bariatric team and University Hospitals are very dedicated to their patients and their careers. This team and program has impacted me personally and professionally so much that I now have dedicated my career to this very Bariatric Surgery Department and University Case Medical Center as one of the Nurse Coordinator.
