HI There I started my journey on 3/15/04 by Dr. Fisher in Las Vegas. Like so many others I tried everything in this world to lose weight & was uable to do that. So with being 360 lbs I decided to have this surgery. I was excited & a little scared all at the same time. The only other surgery I had had, was a knee surgery a 5 months prior. I did it & within 2 weeks had lost an amzing 22 lbs from surgery weight. I never had any problems from the onset & am very thankful for that. I know they exist, but have been very lucky in this respect. I have since lost 140 lbs & am delighted that I do not weigh 360 lbs anymore. I have regained some of my weight (about 25 lbs) I am working on getting that off as well as losing more to get to my original goa. I never got below 200 lbs. & that on somedays bothers me. I do have some post-op problems with anemia & depression. That apparently goes with the territory, it seems. I am not the only one dealing with this & just recently found out I might have to be put back on diabetis drugs. (don't know yet) I thought I was safe from that. Any way to make a long story short I would do this again in a heart beat. I have been blessed by God & given a much better chance at living due to this surgery & Thank him as well as my Doc for giving me that chance.  For those of you that are still looking into this surgery. Don't wait, that is the only thing I wish I would have changed, as I would have done it sooner. Take care & I will update more later.

Hi There, it is my real birthday today & almost 3 yrs out from RNY surgery. I have maintained 100 lbs loss. I still have issues with depression & iron defficiancy, but, overall still feel great.  I would still do it again in a heartbeat, have had very little problems. I am fighting a small regain of about 25 lbs that I am working on getting back off. I thank god everyday that he gave me this opportunity to live a life as a smaller person. I hope if you are reading this, your decision to do this surgery becomes clearer to you. Do not hesitate, just make sure you have a surgeon that know what he is doing & has some kind of aftercare program. that is the key to success.
