Begining of my new life at age 55
Oct 02, 2008
I spent a year overseas in Kabul, Afghanistan and I suffered with my weight the whole time I was there. I am a grandmother of three great grandsons and I was tired of being large. While I was working in Afghanistan working for the military I was expected to pull my own weight, plus what ever luggage or gear I needed. On top of that we were using Army planes and we loaded from the tail and had to pull ourselves up a high ramp! Needless to say that was a big job for me, as I was at the weight of 245 and another 20 to 60 lbs of gear at age 54.
I came back in the fall of 2007 and gained another 20 lbs., and was so depressed and just sick of being big! So, my husband and I started talking about my alternatives and looking into bypass surgery. He had been working at a position for years and we were able to utilize that insurance to get the surgery.
The best decission I made in my live!
