" When I first met Dr Lauter he had a ponytail (that I had read about from this site). He was very easygoing and very honest in the consultation. I felt immediately comfortable with him. I know he has since lopped off the ponytail (darn!) but he is just as great as ever. I have been dealing with Berlin in his office. She is always cheerful and friendly when you talk to her. She is really swamped (probably with all the appeals hoops she has to jump through for the insurance companies) so it can be hard to get her on the phone so you just have to be persistent. DON'T just leave a messsage and wait for her to call back. After you leave a message, you really need to follow up. Just keep in mind that all the work the office is doing on your behalf they are also doing for probably a dozen (at least) other patients.rn I was fortunate enough to witness his care and attention before / during / and immediately after surgery because a friend of mine had him as her surgeon. I was visiting her post op at the hospital when Dr Lauter came to visit her. He is caring and made sure she was comfortable. "Dr Sharma is one of the most thorough doctors I've had. She listens to me and gives me options in treatment. She explains in detail and gives her recommendation but then allows me to make the ultimate decision. I absolutely recommend her! She had not had many patients pursuing WLS but whatever I asked of her she was very happy to accomodate. She wrote letters and was very active in helping me get insurance approval."
"Overall this hospital and staff rate an a+. There was only one unpleasant spot of my stay. One nurse seemed very put off by my request for more pain meds and actually ignored me until the next shift came on. She needs to be let go. Everyone else was spectacular though."
