It's not always about the scale

Mar 10, 2009

I posted this on the RNY forum yesterday for the newbees to understand it's not always about the numbers on the scale.  I had my monthly weigh in at Curves on Saturday, and my weight loss has significantly slowed down.  However, I am still melting.... I lost 15.5 inches from Feb 6 to Mar 7 (only 6 pounds).  I have gone from a size 32 to a 14 in only 8 months!!!!  Now if I hit my St Patricks Day goal of 207, it will be a miracle.  I am 209 right now, and I don't seem to be budging.  Oh well, I'm still happy with my progress.  Hope everyone else is melting too.

Made Valentine's goal....plus 1

Feb 13, 2009

I made my Valentine's goal to be 213 pounds, actually I am 212 this morning.  Yeah!!!!  New goal is to be in onderland by Easter.  Tough, but I think I can do it.  I started out at 339 and in a size 30/32.  As I am typing this, I am in a size 14 and XL tops.  Life is really good right now.  It would be better if I had a sig ot to spend Valentines day with, but I'd rather be skinny than stuck in a bad marriage.

I made my goals this month!!

Oct 29, 2008

It ended up being a great month even tho I had a 3 week stall.  I was in a size 20 jeans before my birthday on the 20th.  YEAH!!!!  And on the 18th I was 252, so that was a total of 87 pounds lost in the 4 months since my surgery.  How wonderful is that.  Yes I was frustrated because the scale stopped moving.  No, I was pissed cause the scale stopped moving!!.  My new goal is to be at 239 by the 18 of December.  That would be 100 pounds lost in 6 months.  That would be freakin amazing.

Life is good.  I won my child support case against my ex.  THe girls are happy cause we will have a little extra money each month.  We brought home a new puppy last night.  A 4 month old female chihuahua that we named Mia.  She's a bit nervous, but she'll come around.

Size 22

Oct 08, 2008

Today when getting ready for work, I pulled on a pair of non-stretch size 22 denim jeans and was able to button and zip them up.  So here I sit at my desk at work wondering when I can fit into a size 20!!  The 22's are tight in the waist and abdomen, but baggy in the butt and legs.  I upped my calories to 800-1000 a day.  I had been eating 500-700 and quit losing.  I went into a 2 week stall that I figured was my body thinking it was starving.  My goal is to be 259 by the 18th of this month.  That is my 4 month surgiversary and would be a weight loss of 80 pounds.  Life would only be better if I could squeeze into a size 20 (hell, I'd even take the stretchie ones) by my birthday on the 20th.  Keep fingers crossed!!

Another skinny jeans moment

Aug 25, 2008

Was running errands yesterday, and told my daughter to bring me a pair of her stretch denim jeans from Fashion Bug (size 24).  They fit and felt wonderful.  I then tried on the non-stretchy size 24....big mistake.  Almost ripped a nail off trying to pull them over my fat butt!!!
Never realized there was such a difference in the stretch denim and non stretch.  Oh well, still felt good to wear a 24!!!!

2 Months out

Aug 17, 2008

Well, I am 2 months out today so I did a weigh in (even tho it wasn't my normal day)  When I started this, I was 339 pounds, this morning I was 287.  That is a weight loss of 52 pounds in 2 months.  Not only have I lost 52 pounds, but I have lost over 38 inches all over.  I have gone from a size 30/32 to a size 26.  I work out 3 days a week at Curves, and plan to start doing Richard Simmons aerobics at my second job.  Life is looking good!!!

My first skinny jean moment

Aug 10, 2008

OK, so I came home from work this morning at 7a ( I work midnites on the weekends).  I tried to lay down and take a nap, but wasn't able to fall asleep.  So I got up and decided to take a bath and go to Wal Mart.  When I went to get dressed, I figured "what the heck"  and tried on my size 26 jeans.  Now when I started this journey on June 18, 2008, I was a size 30/32.  I attempted to try this same pair of jeans on 2 weeks ago, but could not get them buttoned or zipped, so today I buttoned and zipped them first, then pulled them up.  After a little bit of belly stuffing, I FIT INTO THEM!!!!  Lemme tell you, I looked damn good.  I jumped into car and drove to BFF's house to show her, and she told me she didn't want to see me in my 28's or 30's anymore.  She said I have to much ass sag in those jeans.  I kept standing to the side, admiring myself in her full length mirror.  I really felt good about myself, I did my hair, and my makeup.  When you protray a positive attitude about yourself, it reflects on those around you.  I ws just tickled pink and had to share it with everyone.

Freakin Stalls!!!

Jul 29, 2008

I thought I broke the stall, but I guess I was wrong.  I do know that if it wasnt for this site, I would be thinking I was "broken".  My calorie intake is usually around 700 - 900, eating 3 meals and 1 or 2 snacks.  I cant seem to get to many veggies in, just dont have room for them.  I have hit taco bell a few time tho, I am a mexican food junkie.  My breakdown is usually 40% protein, 30% fat, 30% carbs.  My goal each day is to see how high I can get my protein to cut back on fat and carbs.  Still haven't made that darn ice cream yet, but did have a piece of ice cream cake over weekend at a birthday party.  It was made with choco frozen yogurt.  I scraped off the frosting and cake and just ate the ice cream!!! Yummo (still stayed within calorie range for day too!!!).

One month and 6 days out.....

Jul 24, 2008

July 24, 2008

I am 1 month and 6 days out and I feel fantastic.  I so far have had no problems.  My surgeon cleared me on July 9th to eat anything I wanted, as long as I measured it.  So far I have stuck with the healthy stuff.  The only breads I have had have been an occasional tortilla.  I have no desire for bread or pizza dough.  Ice cream which used to be my weakness doesn't even peak my interest.  I did buy an ice cream maker so I can make some of eggfaces delicious sounding protein ice creams.  My size 30 stretch jeans are falling off me.  Regular size 30 jeans are still fitting correctly.  I did buy a pair of size 28 elastic waist linen capris, and they are very loose.  My daughters say that my butt is shrinking!!!!!!!  What a wonderful journey, I'm sooo glad that I decided to do this.
