Checking In
Jan 13, 2012
So its been 8 1/2 years. In 2008 I had gotten to my all-time-low of 206 - that's over 100 pounds. Unfortunately my migraine issue became even worse, and I was started on a med that many people see weight gain on. I didn't know that, so thought it was my destructive eating and gained like 70-80 pounds in a just a few months. Then they eventually found out I had a pituitary adenoma. Its a tumor just under/next to the brain. It had been rotting out my skull, and had started encroaching on my optic chiasm - basically where the optical nerves go between your eyes and your brain. So luckily that was found and surgery wasn't too bad (up my nose with a rubber hose). I was able to get off the pain meds and the one that helped me eat my way back up to almost my pre-op weight. I did lose about 25 pounds after the surgery, and started eating in a healthier way. Then I changed jobs and I was back in my own pattern. So today, I am about 282. Totally sucks.
I'm still never hungry. If I don't eat I get a headache and/or lightheaded. It is simply mental right now. I am seeing a Christian counselor who is helping me tremendously. I'm still glad I did it.
