BEFORE PICTURES!! 380+ pounds
I was always a little bit on the chubby side when I was a kid. But it never got out of control until my teens. I always kept telling myself that stress was to blame. Once I got married and had a daughter I realized that now was the time to get healthy for myself and my family. Even though I started researching WLS years ago, I been seriously looking into the procedure in the last two years and have been trying to get the right insurance so I can be approved. I have had alot of health problems lately and would like to have this surgery before any more occur. I dont have any medically supervised diet attempts though everything I have tried have been home based. I also would like this surgery because several members of my family have had this done and have had excellent results. So after all my conclusions I know that WLS is right for me.
I got married and got under my husbands insurance BCBS. I went to the Cori Center and talked to the wonderful Dr. Taylor. After my orientation I had to have my psych. evaluation and sleep study. It came back I had sleep apnea and I pass my psych. eval. I also had to lose 20 pounds. All that information and a great letter from my PCP and I was approved right away. The whole process from the orientation to approval took about 8-9 months. Thats brings to my current blogs where you can read the rest of my journey!!
