Im having fun!

Jan 02, 2012

Hello OH family!
I am officially 2 weeks post op from Roux en Y laprascopic Gastric Bypass surgery performed by Dr. Titus Duncan at Atlanta Medical Center. I must say that this has been an awesome experience so far. Ive lost close to 20lbs so far and the difference in how i feel and move is already amazing. And for alot of people, they are constantly telling me im doing too much. How? im getting up and walking daily, im not sitting around the house complaining about food. I went to the Atlanta Falcons game last night and had a bottle of water and a few bites of cheese off a pizza and i felt great. So many people constantly think, " oh you had that surgery you cant do anything or have fun anymore" I was blessed to not have that many food demons to fight. I became morbidly obese bc of so many joint injuries when i was younger. I still ate like i was playing ball and it added on the weight, and the fact that I medically couldnt work out like i wanted too compounded that issue. But guess what, its not an issue anymore. I can enjoy myself having a cup of soup and a bottle of just like you can have fun eating a doughnut. Mind over matter people! So for everyone that seems to have all the advice on what i need to do, I simply say, im following my dr's orders and i feel great. IT makes me wonder, what horror stories people were told about WLS that makes them act so crazy when you tell them about it? Im starting to think about not saying anything about it anymore. But nevertheless, this process has been exciting, im seeing results and I cant believe i waited this long to get my life back. Goals are set, but they are just guidelines nothing concrete, if i hit them great, if i get close, good, but having a goal, not an option! Take care folks and just know this is only the beginning. Enjoy life! take care
