Those different kinda stories

Dec 03, 2008

Alright people I have lost about 142 pounds (God is good) and have since had to do some shopping. Well we all have those items we couldn't wear before and get a little happy after weight loss and decide to buy them... this is my story.
I entered the store to buy some more clothes, happry of course that I would be searching in the regular section. I, and forgive me if this is too much information, made my way to the underwear section and there before me was a pack of men's thongs on sale. Never could wear the male thong before so I gave it a try.
I learned a valuable lesson — SOME GARMENTS WERE NEVER MEANT FOR A MAN TO WEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would also like to offer a sincere apology to any woman who has ever felt the need to wear one of those things to impress men!!!!!!!!!!! Never will I suggest anyone else inbed a string in their nether regions and call it underwear. Well, lets just say I made it halfway through the day.

I hope you are all well and I will be posting new pics very soon, God bless you all.

I REACHED THE CENTURY MARK

Jul 08, 2008

Praise be to God first and foremost, but I made the century mark this week   and I am so happy.

I had been at a plateau for weeks and was walking into the grocery store past one of those large scales (you know the ones that only go to 300 pounds that I could NOT use before). I decided to step on the scale and there it was, I weighed 285 (praise God I have to say that again) when I started at 388. I pray this continues, not only for me but for all you as well. This is a blessing and I don't ever want to forget that. Pray for me and I will remember to pray for you as well.

God bless us all and check in with you later.

GETTING THERE PRAISE GOD

Jun 15, 2008

OK, I have not posted for a while, but this has all been so amazing. One of my goals was to weigh under 300 pounds and I am there!!!!!!!!!!!!! Praise God for that.

I also told myself that when I hit below the 300 mark I would attempt one of my other goals — go to Cedar Point and ride everything in the park. This is a personal one for me because several years ago I went and could not fit into several things with the embarrassment of being booted off the ride in front of dozens of onlookers. Anyway, I went and fit on ALMOST everything except the newest race car ride. Rode everything else, but until I get my rear end on that new one I cannot check off this goal — that is OK though, it's just more incentive.

I hope everyone else is doing wonderfully and though I have not posted regularly, I still think about the family here at OH. God bless.

PLATEAU

Apr 07, 2008

Hey everyone

Well, I am now a week shy of two-months and I have hit my first plateau — this is the first week I have not lost any weight. I am down to 337 pounds (a loss of 51 pounds) and the numbers on the scale did not move this week. Don't get me wrong I am delighted and praising God for the 51 pound loss, but I must admit it is disheartening to step on the scale and see no change for the first time.

If anyone has any information on how to kick start this loss back into gear, PLEASE let me know.

Thanks hope all is well with the OH family.

Three weesk post-op and feeling pretty good

Mar 03, 2008

Hi all
It has been three weeks since I came out of surgery and I have yet to write an update because I was home and my home computer will not let me post on this page.

Immediately after surgery let just say I did not know stomach gas could be so painful, but other than that everything went pretty good. I was sent home after just two days and for the first two weeks really did not have any appetite to speak of. I will say, however, that eating broth can get really old really quick. I felt like the dude in Forest Gump takling about shrimp - "I made light broth, blended broth, chicken broth, beef broth..."

I went for my two-week follow up visit and learned that I lost 15 pounds. I was definitely happy about that.

I have enjoyed reading all your experiences, but can someone tell me — does anyone else feel hungry or have an appetite already and how are you all getting all your proteins? This seems like a challenge to me.

IT'S STARTING TO SEEM A BIT MORE REAL NOW.

Jan 28, 2008

Hello Everyone

Well, I went to the Barix Center yesterday and they officially cleared me for surgery on Feb. 12. I actually gained weight since my last visit to the center. That is embarrassing. Anyway, they cleared me for surgery so I pray that all goes well and this weight soon begins to come off in a good way.

I have not written anything previous to this because it didn't seem real, or didn't seem that I would actually get the surgery. Now I am 14 days away from the scalpel and feeling that anxious, nervous feeling in the bottom of my stomach. I am asking that you all pray for me in so many ways, as I pray for you who also have upcoming surgery dates or looking for approvals.

I hope to write back the day after surgery, God bless and good luck to all.
