Im going to answer this question in short for now and Ill elaborate later when I have more time.

Cannabis aka Marijuana (A slang name in Spanish used to ingender racial bias in 1937) is one of the oldest and prior to 1937 most reveered substances on the planet.
It literaly has thousands of uses. It was demonized in an obvious attempt to protect commercial interests and gain political power at that time and ever since. This is obvious to anyone who takes the time to read about it.
In 10,000 years of recorded history it has never killed a single soul. Meanwhile between alcohol and tobacco alone we bury nearly 600,000 people every year. It should have never been legislated in the first place and no one should ever be incarcerated for its posession, cultivation, or use. This failed policy has choked our prisons with non violent offender serving out draconian mandatory sentences. Meanwhile those who should be sent to prison and kept there are released early if they serve any time at all due to overcrowding.
And to answer a question or challenge the notion that might be going through your mind right now....no....I do not use cannabis...
