Almost 7 weeks Post Op 47lbs down

Apr 09, 2010

I am super happy with my progress but I have noticed that I am struggling with starting a good routine.  I have been laxed about taking vitamins and I know that is wrong.  I have also made small efforts to increase my daily activity but I know it isn't nearly enough.  I figure that if I hadn't of had the surgery and this was just another diet then this would be about the time that I would give up and start eating unhealthy again.  I can recognize this now which means I am responsible for not letting it happen.  I know the importance of the vitamins and exercise.  I feel overwhelmed by all the changes.  New foods, learning how to cook differently, exercise, water, vitamins.....it is a lot.  Not to mention I work full time, have a 8 month old baby boy and I go to college.  My plate is running over and not with food.  So my game plan is to relax and each day introduce more and more. Of course starting with taking all of my vitamins every day.  I have been doing well with protein and water so the other things need to come into place as well.  I am very happy I had the surgery and know this is a great opportunity that I need to embrace.

3 Weeks Post Op.....30 lbs down!!

Mar 17, 2010

Today I went for my 3 week follow up and I have now lost a total of 30lbs.....I am so excited.  Its really happening!! I can't wait to see what the new me will look like.  I will be starting soft foods soon, not sure what that really means other than I don't have to puree what I am eating now.  I know it is time to start getting creative and learn to cook some great low fat recipes.

Almost 2 weeks since surgery

Mar 06, 2010

So my surgery was done on February 23, 2010 and I am coming up on my 2 week anniversary.  So far I have lost 17lbs and for the most part feeling pretty good.  The hardest part is not being able to pick up the baby!  My doctor is telling me at least a month before I should lift more than the 5-10 lb limit.  Other than that I am feeling full with the smallest portions I have ever eaten in my life.  The hardest part has been sleeping on my back since I am a stomach sleeper and doing everything we are supposed to in a day (Vitamins, Water, Protein).  It is a lot of work making it all happen.  I am also struggling mentally, I am surprised honestly!  I was thinking that the mind would just go along with the program since it was a very extreme step.  I am still thinking about food and even a little angry that I can't eat what I want.  I know I have to stay focused and remember how good I am going to feel in just a short time because I am eating healthier.  I am thinking to join a 12 Steps program or something to help get my mind in a better place......
