Well... Jusat had my two week checkup. I am down 32 lbs... this is remarkable. I am doing extremely well. I am now back at work and very ready to get on with it all. Mostly I get tired easily, but I am very active, and may be starting an excercise regimen this week. I have already got down to the lowest point I was at in seven months of weight watchers... My Food/hunger problems are all in my head, I have determined. All my hunger is in my head, weather I am full or not, If i smell something savory, I get this huge urge to taste it. I have always been a very gustatory person, I am an avid chef, and the aroma of food is a key trigger for me. But I _have_ been able to resist it. My post was just bitching into the ether, as it were... I just had my two week meeting with the Doctor and the Staff Nurse, Linda, and they are very pleased with me, and I have been given the green light to eat my category 1 diet. Tonight I eat my first food in my new tummy... I am scrambling an egg, and never was I more glad of it.

Jeff, Glad to hear you're doing well. The "hunger" will fade once you jump to solids. Get in that protein and all the water you can. use this early on time to establish habits for later. It does get easier each week! Best Wishes- Dx

well, I am 11 days out of surgery, and staying with the protocol. I havent weighed myself but Ithink I am about 15 lbs down... Just took in my first belt notch. Feels great to be losing weight, finally. BUT I AM HUNGRY!!! I cant understand it!. Everyone said I would not be hungry, but it seems I am hungry all the time. *Sigh* we'll see how I do once I start eating some FOOD. (I am SO looking forward to that first scrambled egg!) I went out last night and picked up some stuff for next week (if the Doc approves), Some canned fruit, and some broth, and stuff. and I have some questions for Nurse Linda regarding my category one foods when I get there. (Like does Ramen count if I dont eat the beans and meat) Happily planning my Category 1 food schedule... Jeffg

Well here I am, at home, three full days post op, and doing great. Pain is at a minimum, and I am getting around really well. Thanks to all my well wishers, and to God for my good results. On medical leave from work, my first full day home, I have realized that I have been doing a lot of my eating out of boredom. Time and time again I found myself at the fridge. Luckily I no longer have the temptation, but the habit seems hard to kill. Thank god I have my angel, My Wife, who has been here before me, to keep me motivated.
