I was the chubby girl forever.....since elemenary school. When I hit puberty,  the weight came on quicker. I was told I had curves in all the right places by my male friends but I really wanted to look like all the other girls in high school. Thin and fitting in. In 1997,  I ballooned up to 220 after my 1st child. I lost some weight but it quickly came back and by 2000 I was at 275. I got into Nursing school in 2008 and found out I was pregnant. My weight then was 317. I lost 30 pounds with the pregnancy (MD approved) and after my daughter was born, my weight crept back up to 308. I thought how am I supposed to give advice as a nurse at the weight I am? How am I supposed to tell patients to live healthy lives? How can I get rid of the pain in my joints? I made the decision to get RNY gastric bypass to help bring my weight under control and to help my ailing knee. I have had wonderful support of my husband of 8.5 years and my 2 children. I had surgery November 3, 2010. It has been a rough road but I am hanging in there for everyone especially me!
