Fellow OH'ers, be gentle, it's my first day!

I have a blog on wordpress - www.jehovahroi.wordpress.com and I have to say I rea'lly love having my blog.  It has gotten me through a lot the past few months, and now that I've finally had my surgery, I rely on it even more.

I'm not really sure what to post.  I guess I don't want to have too much duplicity.  Then again, it would be a tad bit vain for me to think that people are going to actually read both this blog and my other one.

So, I'll just pick up where I left off on my other blog and keep it current here.  If you 'd like to read any of my other posts, please feel free to stop by and while you're there, post your comments.  I consider it a true blessing whenever someone not only pops in to read, but feels led to reply regardless if you agree or disagree.

So, here we are 7/8 - 2 1/2 weeks out of surgery and I would really really really like to eat something other than mashed potatoes.  I put up a post on my wP blog and got a reply from Michelle and she clued me into OH.  I'm so excited about meeting other people who will share their experiences and advice.  No matter how far weight loss surgery has come and all the positive strides made by doctors and hospitals it is still MAJOR SURGERY and should be taken very seriously.  *** sidebar - my son was watching comedy central and went to bed without giving me the remote or changing the channel.  I wasn't really paying much attention and then suddenly I realized it was the "manbearpig" episode I've heard my kids and friends talking about.  (my son is 26yrs old - just an fyi)  the manbearpig episode is so stupid it's funny and it's distracting me from typing out my thoughts so if I get jumbly or make you think to yourself uhhhh-what??  it's south park's fault as well as Al Gore and his manbearpig.

Back to the matter at hand...Uhmmm where was I?? Oh yeah, I'm sick of mashed potatoes okay!  Tomorrow I'm off the the store to by myself one of the Stick Blenders - why don't they tell you up front you'll need to stock your pantry with stuff to help you on your recovery?  Before I head out to the store I'm calling Dr. Dallal's office and telling them about OH and the stick blender thingy and recommend they add it to all the pre-surgery, post surgery papers they gave me.  I'm also going to suggest they list recipes and products I've found to that were/have been helpful to me.
Did you know that there is a protein beverage that is very inexpensive and has 40g protein?  It comes in several flavors and is sugar free and low in calories.  It's called ISOPURE.  There is also a sugar free protein pudding that only has 60 calories per serving and also has 12g of protein.  I like to top it with a teaspoon of Cool Whip Free.  You can also whip the pudding and cool whip together to make a fluffy mousse and if you like ice cream you can freeze it - yum yum yum.  You can find the ISOPURE at most vitamin /  health stores.  I carry the pudding on my business site at www.jbmall.biz and it is Krakoosh Protein Pudding.  And check this out, right now it's buy one get one free - that's awesome, I just order myself a few because I love it and I'm going to make  myself little pudding pies with graham crackers later in the summer when I can tolerate crackers.  Well, I had no idea it was getting so late - I actually woke up at 1130am today (sunday) even though I did not get to sleep until around 6am so now I am going to try and hit the sack to see if I can get my sleep pattern to something a bit more acceptable.  I hate sleeping away the day.  Well, take care and may the peace that surpasses all understanding that only God can give, be yours today.  ^i^ briggie
