Eric Schlesinger

"Dr. Schlesinger is a great surgeon and a great man. He is a total professional, does not try to gloss over anything, covers everything there is to be covered in the initial meetings, reiterates in later meetings, is very open and responsive to questions. I think he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. His surgical competence is the most important thing to me, although he is polite and professional in his bedside manner, as well. He's not babying in any way, but I don't need another parent. The staff at BTC is also wonderful. They know this is a life changing step and they want to make sure you have all of the tools to succeed. They also realize the importance of repetition, which I think is great. Many times when you meet with them, you are excited, nervous, and post op medicated, so they make sure you understand everything they are educating you with. Also, the post op nurses are wonderful. They don't just shove meds at you or stick it in your port. They tell you what they are giving you, what it is for, etc. Every person at this facility is great. The respiratory people, pre op nurses, post op nurses, administrators, after care support team, Nutritionist, receptionist, EVERYONE. It's like a cult of caring professionals, and they make me want to join! The only thing negative I can say is "surgery hurts". But that's temporary!"
