 As many of you already know, I am young!  I had the Lap Band surgery March 26, 2009 and now 15 months post op- I have lost a total of 165 pounds!  I thought at 18 years old weighing in at 305 pounds, my life was over and nothing would change the fact that I was over weight...  Dr. Steinburg and his staff were the best people throughout my journey.  I am now 19 years old, attending college, and weigh 140 pounds!  I am finally happy and can do almost anything asked of me!  I love the new me and I love being able to do things that were once complex for me to accomplish!!! :)

As many of you may know, I am 18 years old and had the lap band surgery on March 26, 2009.  My weight has been a battle since I can even remember...  I do not ever remember being a skinny girl.  I have always been a little bigger than the rest of the world.  i had a terrible wreck in February of 2008, and was in a wheelchair for 3 months, and I noticed a lot of weight being put on.  Before I knew it- I had reached the 300 pound mark. :( I was truely devastated and lost a lot of hope... All of my friends are under at least 160 pounds and it bothered me because I was the only fat one.  My mom had the gastric 5 years ago and has lost 180+ pounds and it inspired me soo much! My grandmother let me borrow the money for this surgery because I knew my insurance would turn me down!  I am already starting to feel a little better even though I have hit some obstacles in this journey... In the first week I lost 20 pounds which was great! I was finally below 300.  I weighed 305 when I had surgery on 3/36... I have not yet weighed this week for my 2nd week, and I really hope I have lost alot more... I have been working out and trying to do more cardio than anything!  This was a life change for me because I was tired of being fat!  Its been rough, but I know I can do it  because I have a lot of people standing behind me: my mom, grandmother, brother, friends, and more family :)
