All is well, we had a beautiful baby girl on 5/3/08. We have moved from California to Colorado, so needless to say just a little bit going on right now. My one yr ann was last month even w/ pregancy I am down to 165. WOO HOO
7 Months Post-Op & 5 1/2 MONTHS PREGNANT......
Jan 31, 2008
HOW'S THAT FOR A HEAD LINE. ALL IS WELL W/ ME & OUR WLS BABY GIRL.MY FAMILY IS EXPECTING OUR 4TH GIRL, SHE IS DUE 5/6/08.
ALL LAB WORK & OUR ULTRASOUND HAVE CONFIRMED THE BABY & I ARE DOING WELL.I ACTUALLY HAVE NOT FELT THIS GOOD PHYSICALLY IN YEARS.I CURRENTLY WEIGH 196,THE ONLY SIGN OF PREGANCY IS MY SMALL BUMP OF A BABY.
W/ MY LAST PREGANCY I WEIGHED 250 AND GAINED 40LBS.I WAS TIRED ALL THE TIME & HAD HIGH BLOOD PRESSUE.I HAD TO LAY DOWN EVERYDAY IN THE AFTERNOON FROM 3 MONTHS UNTILL DELIVERY DAY.WHAT A DIFFERENCE.
THE INITAL SHOCK HAS NOW TURNED INTO REALITY, I WAS SOOO WORRIED ABOUT HOW WE COULD HAVE THIS BABY ON SO MANY LEVELS.I HAVE EXPERIENCED GOD'S HAND IN MY LIFE OVER THE PAST WEEKS, HE HAS GUIDED ME & MY FAMILY. ALTHOUGH SOME MAY SAY THIS IS A NEGITIVE EXPERIENCE,I COMPLETLY DISAGREE.I DONT BELIEVE W/O WLS THIS BLESSING WOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN TO ME.HOW IRONIC.
DETOUR IN MY JOURNEY
Jan 02, 2008
Well it's been 6 months & 79lbs since WLS & am happy I made the leap of faith to have WLS.
I am under the 200's have not weighed this since high school, BUT I was wondering why I had not lost more in the last 2 months, well here is the reason....
I have recently found out that I am 5 months pregant. Yes, there is no type-o here, I am w/ child # 4
At my 1st post-op Appointment I asked my surgeon @ the absorption of my birthcontrol & was told I could continue to use oral BC.
I stopped having my monthly cycle in August & was told that was due to the rapid weight loss.
Women beware of this, I may be a issolated case but I do know I was faithful & consistant in my AM dose of BC.
I am still in a state of shock, being that 1 week ago I was told I am very pregnant. At this point my husband & I are looking toward the positive side of my pregancy.ALL things / blessings / trials / detours happen for a reason, its all in God's hands. Imagine if I was not pregnant, how much I would have lost!!!!!
I will keep you informed in my journey, it's always exciting to see how God is going to work everything out. Happy New Year, ABBY

I am having issues w/ no desire to eat. I didnt think I would EVER have difficult time eating. I want to eat a healthy high protein meal, but I can hardly stand the sight & smell of almost anything.

Learning & Loving my journey
Aug 11, 2007
I am learning @ this new pouch & what I can eat ,what I cant eat, & what I should eat. For the majority of the time I have made good choices. Sometime I have made poor choices & I know right away that I have.
For the first few weeks I was trying to figure this out. Protein, water, walking, eating..... WOW a lot to learn, & I still am learning everyday.
I am loving the way my body is feeling. I can & WANT TO walk each day. What a change that is.
Today was the first time (besides family) that someone noticed I have lost weight. Not only did she mention that I look great, but more importantly it was the comment that I look SO HAPPY & CONTENT. That is how I feel, physically in better shape, happy & content.
Thank you WLS
OH that's what dumping is.....

My name is Abby, I am 30 & I live on the central coast in CA w/ my husband of 13 year's & our 3 girls. Until recently I worked for a Pest Control Co. (that is how I got my e-mail address name)
I have been battling my weight since 3 grade when I went on my first of MANY diets/lifestyle changes only to be short lived.
I am a emotional eater, translated I like to eat all the time.
I have watched a friend thru this experience & started researching WLS in Oct 06'
On 06/29/07 I had WLS w/ Dr. Higa @ Fresno Hart. It was a wonderful experience ( for surgery, that is )
SO far 3 DAYS OUT, I do feel great. Slight abdominal
pain. My challenges I am facing is to drink my fluids (I am not hungry, who would of thought) & I can't pick-up anything over 10 lbs, that is giving me some guilt because I can't care for my daughter & I am getting help from family. I am trying to stay positive & look forward to the care free day's @ the beach.
