I was banded in 5/2010 and let me tell you, I was so excited.  I had reached my highest weight...346!  I was so appalled with myself that I had let things get so out of hand.  I lost almost 15 pounds pre-op and then post op got down to about 288 and that took almost a full year.  I had such trouble with my band.  Constantly taking more fluid out of my band than what I had put in.  It was so frustrating!  I dealt with constant fluctuation.  One day my band would be so tight I could barely get liquids down and the next I could eat almost anything (within reason of course)!  This led to bad eating habits because ultimately I was starving myself!  The weight crept back on.  I was so ashamed of it all, I stayed away from going back to the doctor as often as I should have.  I just dealt with it thinking that I hardly had any fluid in there so what in the world were they going to do for me.  Boy I was wrong.  I finally told myself that I needed to figure this darn band out and get back on track.  I met with the NP trying to follow the plan to the T but still wasn't losing.  They even removed MORE fluid.  I was just so tired of the roller coaster.  The Nurse Practioner then asked...have you ever considered a revision to a sleeve. After much contemplation, I went for it!  I was sleeved on 10/10/13!  I am so excited to see what the future holds.  I am ready to do this right!!!
