Well, New Year...again...starting over...again..this time I'm starting with Body By Vi, and it seems to be VERY "do-able!" It tastes awesome, and I can make it in SO many different ways! I've lost 6 lbs since January 11th, and I haven't even been exersizing yet...soon to come, though! I'm sticking with this! It's far to easy NOT too! I truly do like this, and I believe in it and myself! By summer I'll be looking and feeling so much better, I just KNOW it! Here's to SUCCESS! Woo-Hoo!  Weight: 202! Jan 23rd!

Well, since mom's stroke, I haven't focused much on me...understandably. We are bringing her home today, tho! Yaay! Mayble life will go back to being a little more normal, and I can get back to some focusing on my diet/exercise a little bit....here's to hope!

Ok, so it's a New Year, 3 YEARS POST OP, and my lazy butt's STILL not it ONEDERLAND!!! I've been 2 stinking pounds away, and not accomplished it! How BAD does that SUCK!?? And WHO's to BLAME?? Well, by golly, this year THIS gal's gonna do something about it, and those last 40 lbs are gonna go SOUTH!!! This is a bunch of CRAP!!   THIS YEAR I'M GONNA DO IT!!! I WILL weigh at LEAST 180 lbs by summertime, if not 170!! At 5'9", I won't look too shabby, I don't think anyway! (May need a little help from the scalpel with the extra tummy skin, but hey, I can deal with the small details, what's one more ab surgery after you've had a hysterectomy and a band, right? Walk in the park!) Then again, I may just be so freakin' happy with reaching my goal weight after 38 years that a little bit of skin may not even phase me! LOL! Weighing in at 211 right now, Jan 4th. WILL BE LIGHTER AT NEXT BLOG! Starting exercise routine TODAY! Woo hoo! Onederland, here I come!

Well, it's almost unbelievable, but this time next week I'll be banded! I know that the week will just fly by, and getting all those last minute loose strings tied up is gonna be a job!
Since starting the liquid pre-op diet a week ago, I've lost 6 lbs...weighed 286 today (6-30-08).  We'll see what my weight will be next Sunday...I'll weigh again then before we head out to Columbia...maybe I'll have lost another 6 lbs! Will be taking 'before' pics and measurements on the day before, and maybe day of surgery..depends on how early I have to be there!

I got a neat email, and one of the sayings within it really struck a note, and I think it's worth repeating and keeping in mind:
"I asked God to take my habit away.  God said, 'No. It's not for me to take away, but for you to give it up'. "

Pretty much "IT in a nutshell, donthca think?"......

  Well, I think I've come up with the perfect analogy for waiting for a surgery date, and the frustration we feel until we get it!!!!  Check it out:

"Getting a surgery date, for an overweight person, is like a "normal sized" person winning the lottery.   EXCEPT:  try knowing that you've already WON that lottery, but you don't have a CLUE when you'll get the check, and nobody seems to know!"

Well, being unable to control my own eating habits has driven me to that 'point of no return' we've all heard about.  I've got too many risk factors NOT to have the surgery: strong diabetes, heart problems, high blood pressure, etc. in my immediate family history.Most importantly, however, is my one and only little angel. My daughter is now 2 and 1/2, and she would grow up alone if something were to happen to me. Grandma's got cancer and is close to 72, and my only sister is in bad health and couldn't care for her.  My heart breaks at the thought of what her future would be like if I don't get healthy.  This is DEFINITELY NOT one of those 'vanity' issues.  I have to be both a mom and dad to my little one, and I've GOT to be here for her as long as I possibly can be.
